Fellow Servants of Jesus Christ, Jim casual 8-2014

I am pleased to announce that we continue to make great progress in our strategy to eliminate our debt! This past week, we have fulfilled the terms of our agreement with Trinity Presbytery. We made our last payment on the $377,500 required as part of our terms of dismissal from the PCUSA to the ECO. Please know that no funds from the Debt Free in Three campaign were used in this regard. We used monies collected in our regular offerings.

Speaking of our Debt Free in Three campaign, we have now reduced our mortgage debt from 2.2 million dollars at the beginning of our campaign to $519,079! As you can see, we have made tremendous progress in recent months:

February 15, 2019                  $812,995
March 14, 2019                     $709,879
April 22, 2019                       $605,505
May 15, 2019                        $519,079

Though we have reduced the debt significantly, we still have a way to go. We are closing in on the goal of retiring our mortgage debt before it is due on August 5th.   Wouldn't it be wonderful to retire this debt before then!

Please continue to give over and above your regular contributions toward this effort. You may also want to consider giving stock or other investments. Please contact our Business Administrator Alisha Hudson at 803-603-9142 about how to best do this. Having this burden of our mortgage removed will free us to better advance the kingdom of Jesus Christ throughout the world!

In Christ's love,
Pastor Jim

OUR SOUTH SUDAN MINISTRY REPORTS:
Message from Mrs. Lydia Agolory, Minister of Women, Children and Gender for Boma State, South Sudan

Note:  Boma State is the focus of our South Sudan ministry. We work with Mrs. Agolory to assist getting girls into schools by providing hygiene kits.

She reports, "Right now I'm in Juba attending a workshop about women's land rights.  Women's rights including land rights, are hot issues in South Sudan.  Ten days ago, we (the Government of Boma State) were able to recover ten abducted children, four from Jonglei State and six from Bieh State." (Note: These are areas which are primarily inhabited by other ethnic groups.  Returning kidnapped children is a powerful way to promote inter-tribal peace.) " My work is not easy because of many challenges, but I must overcome all these challenges - for these are my people. "

"What I want from you is prayers for me and my family because being away from them for long time is not easy.  And continue praying for Boma State in general.  Two weeks ago, some of our Murle youth attacked the Jie tribe and abducted 61 children, 43 women and about 100 cattle.  I am frustrated and annoyed because our state government seems unable to do anything about this incident."

PLEASE PRAY FOR LYDIA, THE PEOPLE OF BOMA STATE AND ALL OF SOUTH SUDAN.
