HIGHLIGHTS

Congregational Meeting
Sunday, June 2
Please be present for a called congregational meeting for the purpose of voting on nominees for the offices of elder and deacon. Watch for details on the meeting and biographies of the candidates. Pray for wisdom and for God's continued protection of our church.

Seek the City (StC) Volunteer Opportunities
Seek the City is a churchwide mission and requires volunteers from the congregation to make everything run smoothly and for our youth to be able to minister to people on their worksites. Our StC initiative (June 17-22) is a week of ministry fueled by the energy and commitment of our teens and youth leaders. We still need many volunteers from the congregation for it to run smoothly and for our youth to be able to minister to people on their worksites. For more information and to sign up to help, go to christcovenant.org/seek-the-city and click on the links that interest you.

 Information

New! Men's Small Group-Midtown/Uptown
There is a new Men's Group forming in midtown on Wednesdays at 6:30 a.m. If you work uptown or nearby, this may be the group for you. Men's Groups are discipleship groups for men and are designed to help create a gospel community in which the message of the gospel transforms our lives in such a way that participants become mature disciples who are able to make disciples. Please contact Jon Paul to sign up for the new Wednesday group. If you are interested in another location, please contact Jenny Blackmon, ministry administrator.

Congregational Accommodations
Our slideshow shows infographics with details on the ammenities we have available for our congregation, including a fragrance-free area (in the balcony, adjacent to the elevator); nursing mothers room (WC-111); hands-free outer door (on ground level near handicapped parking); elevator to ground floor, main floor, and lobby; hearing loop seating in the sanctuary; and large print worship folders at the information desk. Please see the Courier or the announcement slides for icons and check the information desk if you have questions about any of these.

Is There a Graduate in Your Family?
We want to publish the names, schools and plans for the immediate future (i.e., college, military, career, post-grad) of our high school, college, and post-grad members of the Class of 2019 so our church family can celebrate these milestones, too. Please send your graduate's information to [email protected] and look for our list in early June.

Employment Opportunities
Christ Covenant Church regularly seeks to employ individuals who want to engage their gifts to help make disciples who worship God, grow in community, love others, and serve the world. Check christcovenant.org/aboutus/employment for current positions and to apply. Current opportunities include: Director of Communications, Childcare Worker (PT - as needed), Grounds Keeper (PT).

 Missions and Outreach

ProjectSHARE for May
We are collecting new or very gently used books for Matthews Elementary School and Crestdale Middle School students to use during our Seek the City camps. It is very important this year to collect many books as both camps will be held on the campus of Christ Covenant. Books may be dropped off in main lobby any Sunday this month or the church office during the week. The goal is a minimum of 200 books for each club.

To see a full list of suggested books, click here.

RTS Students Need Housing
Reformed Theological Seminary's student body is growing! We are currently searching for housing options for new students as they move to Charlotte. If you have an above-garage apartment, a spare room, or a rental property, would you prayerfully consider renting to a seminary student? Helping house our students is a wonderful way to partner with RTS as we train our students for ministry. For more information, please contact Katy McIlvaine in the RTS admissions office: [email protected] or 704-688-4220.

Missionaries of the Week: May 19

Mostafa & Mona Sharkawy
Their ministry is reaching and discipling Arab Muslims in England and other countries.  Pray for the Arabs and refugees Mostafa ministers to in detention centers.  Pray for Mona's ministry in running women's conferences and editing training ministry books for their home church in Egypt.  Pray for more prayer and financial support partners.
