  • "The feeling of encouragement, support, and love I received was tremendous." -Tammy
  • "When I began my journey in the CDA program I had been in child care for 6 months.  This program was very beneficial in helping me communicate with families of children and staff.  With the help of the program. I have been able to design my new teaching style around best practice." -Ann

Free Summer Meals
Spread the word!

All across the country, schools and community groups run summer meals sites where kids can eat breakfast and lunch for free. No Kid Hungry helps local organizations launch and operate these sites, and also helps fund needed equipment like mobile meal trucks.

But neighborhood meal sites aren't meeting needs if families don't know about them. That's why No Kid Hungry runs a summer meals texting service.

Parents, grandparents and caregivers can text FOOD to 877-877 to find free summer meals sites in their neighborhoods. Once schools are out, parents can text to find the free summer meals program in their community.

You can do your part to let families know about the texting service and the free summer meals by hanging up posters in your program. To learn more visit the No Kids Hungry website.

The 2019 Early Childhood Profile is now available online. This interactive report provides data to show how well Kentucky children are being served before they enter primary school, as well as how they perform academically in 3rd grade. The second tab of the report gives a snapshot of participation in Kentucky All STARS. The Division of Child Care is extremely thankful for the Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS) and for all of their early childhood partners for their excellent work compiling this data.
