Kathy King Memorial Scholarship Recipients
Jayleen Bedminster and Michael Rondon

Congratulations Jayleen Bedminster and Michael Rondon, the first recipients of the Kathy King Memorial Scholarship @JACentralFL #JAGraduation #thisisoakridge #alwayswithus

Kathy King passed away in October of 2018. She loved working with the students at the JA Academy for Leadership & Entrepreneurship. Her labor was driven by the belief that every student should have the ability to show success. Kathy loved watching "her kids" graduate and move on to achieve success in higher learning.

Alumni - Where Are You Now???
Congratulations to Revel Lubin ORHS Class of 2015!  Proud to be a Pioneer!

Six years ago, Revel Lubin didn't believe college was possible. He had just quit playing high school sports at Oak Ridge to work at the Orlando Premium Outlets so he could help his sister and guardian, Maude, pay the light bill. Sports was supposed to be his out. But Revel did go to college. In fact, he excelled. A few months after being inducted into the University of Florida's Hall of Fame for student affairs, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminology and pre-law this spring. This fall, 23-year-old Revel is headed to Yale!

This Week's Motivational Moment
Especially dedicated to the Class of 2019!

IBD'S 10 SECRETS TO SUCCESS

Investor's Business Daily (the number two daily business paper behind The Wall Street Journal) has spent years analyzing leaders and successful people in all walks of life. Most have 10 traits that, when combined, can turn dreams into reality. This is what their research uncovered:

1 HOW YOU THINK IS EVERYTHING: Always be positive. Think success, not failure. Beware of a negative environment.

2 DECIDE UPON YOUR TRUE DREAMS AND GOALS: Write down your specific goals and develop a plan to reach them.

3 TAKE ACTION: Goals are nothing without action. Don't be afraid to get started. Just do it.

4 NEVER STOP LEARNING: Go back to school or read books. Get training and acquire skills.

5 BE PERSISTENT AND WORK HARD: Success is a marathon, not a sprint. Never give up.

6 LEARN TO ANALYZE DETAILS: Get all the facts, all the input. Learn from your mistakes.

7 FOCUS YOUR TIME AND MONEY: Don't let other people or things distract you.

8 DON'T BE AFRAID TO INNOVATE; BE DIFFERENT: Following the herd is a sure way to mediocrity.

9 DEAL AND COMMUNICATE WITH PEOPLE EFFECTIVELY: No person is an island. Learn to understand and motivate others.

10 BE HONEST AND DEPENDABLE; TAKE RESPONSIBILITY: Otherwise, Nos. 1-9 won't matter.

Congratulations Class of 2019!
