Spotlight on Girl Scout Juniors!
Troop 423 - Olathe, KS

Where the clues lead you! Troop 423 spent a weekend at Camp Tongawood where investigation was at the core of their camp out. These Girl Scouts completed their Detective badge by extracting DNA from strawberries, writing & deciphering secret codes, looking at fingerprints and using their observation skills. Their leader challenged them with a Harry Potter themed breakout game and they unlocked all 5 locks in 14 minutes! On top of that they enjoyed making s'mores, cinnamon rolls in a dutch oven, walking tacos, and muffins in box ovens. Despite the cold, windy weather they hung out on the dock, played Gaga Ball, climbed the traverse wall, and played with the new musical wall. Now that is a weekend we fully endorse! Can we come next time, Troop 423?

These Girl Scouts have been committed to feeding their community members in need with three food drives completed and more than 1,000 items collected & donated. And, their not done... they want to put in some more hours toward their project and look to keep it going in the new GS Year. Guess what? All 9 Girl Scouts in this troop are renewed for the new membership year! Way to go! We are so proud of you on earning your Bronze Award, Girl Scouts!!
Tell us about your girl! How is your Girl Scout taking the lead? We love our Girl Scouts in action with our programs, but we are not limited here. Is she taking the lead in school, in her place of worship or in another group activity? Share with us at prdept@gsksmo.org or use the social media icons below with #BecauseofGirlScouts.
