2016 Domaine de Noire'
"Soif de Tendresse"
Chinon, France
$19.99
Owned by the President of the Chinon AOC, Jean-Max Manceau, Domaine de Noire' occupies a prime location just east of the beautiful medieval French seat of the Plantagenets, the village of Chinon, above the Vienne River, in the Loire Valley.
After years of restoring the terroir of their vineyards to bring back a traditional expression of Cabernet Franc, their wines have been 100% Certified Organic since 2014.
Their 2016 Soir de Tendresse comes from 25 to 30 year old vines, in sandy clay soils. Natural field cover crops and hand harvesting just a select yield aid in a true expression of violet aromas and bright cherry fruit, balanced by firm, pliant tannins.
Enjoying an organic Chinon at this price is, truly, a great deal. Indeed, even world renown wine expert, Jancis Robinson, has called Chinon wines, "Absurdly undervalued".
Salut!
