This month our gathering will celebrate the creative and feminine power of God, called "Wisdom", or in Greek Sophia, as it reveres the wisdom that is found and passed on each of us.
If you are able, please bring an appertizer that a woman family member or mentor taught or shared with you.
We will also be embroidering Altar linens. If you have embroidery hoops and/or needles please bring them. We will have extra needles and thread.

 TEFAP Saturday 4/21 Food Distribution

A big welcome to Alex and Michael, our two brand new volunteers from last month!
We have some great
proteins
for our TEFAP distribution on 4/21. We have turkey lunch meat AND canned chicken, and a return of the frozen eggs. We also have both oatmeal and cereal to offer to our families.

Join us for a fabulous wine & beer food pairing event to benefit the Jim McClure Scholarship Fund for St. Paul's Episcopal Day School.
Your fellow parishioners will serve some of their favorite wine with delicious food, and Father Stan will serve some of his favorite beer. We will end with dessert, coffee, and brilliant musical entertainment.
Ticket prices are as follows:
$25/person ($5 donation included in price)
$15/college student
$50/patron ticket ($30 donation included & we'll recognize you at the event!)

Senior Commodities
Can you help one Wednesday evening a month?
St. Paul's Episcopal Food Pantry is looking for a regular volunteer(s) for the Senior Commodity program on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for couples or for students who need service hours! The program serves Missouri residents who are 60 years of age or older and meet certain income requirements. The volunteer opportunity involves taking applications, checking the clients in and possibly helping them carry out their food boxes. We generally serve approximately 20-25 clients on Wednesday evenings.

he Rector will do a presentation on the 2018 Poor People's Campaign and its connection to the Episcopal Church.
Children's formation will be at 10:20 on the third floor.
Join us for the next installment of Acts and Action, as we move to reading Jeremiah at our new meeting date and time: Wednesdays at 7:30 pm on the third floor.
Acts and Action is a small group dedicated to the spiritual discipline of being engaged citizens.
We meet weekly to read scripture, share our concerns and plan how we may live faithfully in the world as both engaged citizens and members of the body of Christ.

Sunday Mail Ministry
In these tumultuous times, more people than ever before are reaching out to their members of Congress and other elected officials. Indeed, this is part of our calling as followers of Jesus in the world--to engage with the powers that be to make for a better world for all God's creation. Each Sunday, the members of Acts and Action will have a table set aside during Coffee Hour where you can write a postcard to your selected elected official, and write whatever you wish to convey: I agree, I disagree, I'm praying for you, etc. Acts and Action will then deliver them by hand to the local offices of KCMO reps on the final Friday of each month. (If you are sending to someone on the KS side of the state line, talk to Mtr Megan and she will arrange for stamps!)

2018 Poor People's Campaign:
A National Call for Moral Revival
Hundreds gathered for the initial meeting of the new Poor Peoples Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival Faith Assembly last week in Kansas City. Joined by national Poor Peoples Campaign leaders Rev. Jimmie Hawkins and Dr. Colleen Wessel-McCoy, Kansas City faithful and social activists committed to doing whatever it takes to renew Dr. King's revolutionary vision to eliminate the "triple evils" of racism, economic exploitation, and militarism.
We are bringing people together across our nation's dividing lines to build a broad and deep national, moral movement led by the low-wage workers, the poor, clergy, and moral agents of change in rural and urban Missouri. In the words of Rev. William Barber, "while we may know the facts and the figures, we need a new wheel that can actually fix the problems of poverty, and racism, and militarism in America. And the Poor Peoples Campaign is that wheel."
Come and learn how you can be a part of our nation's great tradition of making non-violent social change. Gain deeper insight how past social movements used non-violence to win the freedoms we have today - for women, workers, people of color, LGBTQ. And how we can use non-violent moral collective action today to win the battle for America to be what it ought to be: A place where "opportunity is real, and life is free," and "equality is in the air we breathe," as Langston Hughes so beautifully said.

We hope you will consider teaming up with another family or a friend to maintain our fellowship and gathering following the 10:30 a.m. service that has brought our parishioners together for years.
Hosting Coffee Hour is a fun and easy way to get to know other St. Paul's members! The host brings the food and the church provides the drinks. An example of what a host might bring would be: two large pans of brownies (cut very small), maybe a bowl of fruit (oftentimes grapes cut into small clusters), and a bowl or two of pretzels or popcorn.
