All Parish Meeting

June 2, after the 9 am service

" Almighty and everliving God, ruler of all things in heaven and earth, hear our prayers for this parish family. Strengthen the faithful, arouse the careless, and restore the penitent. Grant us all things necessary for our common life, and bring us all to be of one heart and mind within your holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." -- Book of Common Prayer

After the "Place" meetings, in which all members of our parish were invited to gather to share our input on the process of the Place Committee, we will gather to hear and celebrate the work of this team and the Vestry in determining next steps for the physical location of St. Paul's. We will also celebrate our new Confirmands and the graduation from high school of Cora Emslie.

EfM - A Ministry of Nurture at St. Paul's

The Education for Ministry (EfM) program is an excellent way to make connections: with our tradition, with our relationship with God, and with one another. This four year program explores the Old Testament, the New Testament, Church history and Contemporary Theology. Laurie Gudim and Terry Birdsong are your mentors. Sign up a year at a time for $375 per year. Scholarships are available.
Education : Do you want an in-depth look at scripture, both Old and New Testaments? Do you wonder when and by whom the books of the Bible were written and when they became officially recognized? Do you wonder what was going on in the cultures for whom these books were written? Are you interested in church history? Would you like to compare your theology to that of others both within the Christian tradition and beyond? We can do that together in EfM.

for Ministry: Each of us has a unique calling that expresses where our deepest joy and the world's profound hunger meet. Discover yours -- or articulate it further. Together in community each member of the EfM group builds their sense of the unique voice God has given them and discovers the next way God is calling for it to be used.

A small faith-sharing group. One of the best things about EfM is that it is an intimate group of people who support one another as we learn and grow together. We share one another's joys and sorrows and help out where there is need. We pray together as we study and reflect together.

3 Congregations – 1 Faith Community “Trinity Habitat Challenge” -- by Pastor Rick

Sitting around a breakfast table in February, our three congregations were invited into a challenge, to collectively raise $10,000 to support the Habitat for Humanity Inter-faith, Inter-denominations Build this summer. This goal is a God sized dream that is possible because of the ministry that we share together in this place.

We would like to invite you to partner with us in this challenge. If you are moved to give a donation, we have $5500 already committed towards our goal, that will help double your donation. Email Pastor Rick for details.

Thank you for your gifts. Thank you for what we can do together. Thank you for the witness to God’s work in our lives.

St. Paul's at the Food Bank

St. Paul’s volunteer outreach to those in need of food in Larimer County is happening regularly at the Food Bank warehouse, located near the Ft. Collins/Loveland airport. We now are scheduled to volunteer once a month on a Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 – 3:00.  The following dates are scheduled for the next few months: June 18, July 9 and August 20. We have a faithful core of volunteers but more folks are always welcome. If interested, please email Jo Baietti or call her at 970-223-1686

And another thing. . .

Beginning in June, the Food Bank’s Summer Feeding Program kicks off, and this summer is one for the record books! Their kitchen’s average number of ~100 meals daily for kids will be skyrocketing to ~1000 meals a day for kids not in school for the summer. Since school lunches are often kids only source for a hot meal, summer can be an especially hungry time. In order to make over one thousand kids have the energy to play around in the sun, the Food Bank needs some additional help! Check out the link at the end of this email to go to the Food Bank’s website for more information and instructions on how to sign up.

They are in need of regular kitchen volunteers. This is a weekly position for the 10 weeks of summer, and they are asking for a commitment of 1 shift a week, for at least 8 weeks. You do not need previous kitchen experience.  You don’t even have to be a good cook! Interested? Click on the link and sign up for a volunteer orientation and get started feeding kidlets!

There are a couple other opportunities, which are less of a time commitment. This includes doing site monitoring visits to each location where food will be served. This is just to make sure that these places are clean, fun, and food safe!

They also have some opportunities to do an activity with kids who will be at their Food Truck meal sites.

Save the Date

Our next rotation for Faith Family Hospitality starts June 2nd. Here is the sign up genius. There will also be a paper sign up sheet at the church tomorrow. Thanks for your generous service to people trying to get a leg-up in Ft. Collins!!

Flowers for the Altar

T o dedicate altar flowers in memory of a loved one, in celebration of a birthday or anniversary, or just to express gratitude to God, sign up on the list located on the red bulletin board where we used to gather for coffee. The money for these flowers comes from donations. We ask for a $25 donation, but any amount is acceptable. Write the check to St. Paul’s, put “Flowers” in the memo line, and put it in the offering plate. Thanks!
"The Inner Fundamentalist"

"On May 16, 1983, a civil war began there that lasted twenty-two years. Over a million members of the Episcopal Church of the Province of the Sudan died."
