Sunday Greeters Need Your Help
New Greeters Needed
A new class of Stephen Minister training will begin soon. A Stephen Minister goes through 50 hours of training in preparation to help minister to the needs of those hurting or in crisis. This ministry is vital to our pastors, congregation, and community.

We're about to create the calendar for Sunday morning greeters for the second half of the year. This is a great way to meet new people and share the warmth that you experienced when you first came to Belin Memorial. Please consider joining us. Typically you are assigned three Sundays to greet during the course of six months. Flexibility in the schedule means that we can meet most folk's time needs. Please email Gary Nuss at [email protected] or call 570.916.4783 to provide your name, phone number and email address, which service you are willing to greet at, and any calendar requests you have at this time.

Note to Current Greeters
If you have already been helping with Sunday morning greeting, thank you very much! It is an important ministry of the church. In planning the schedule for the second half of the year, it is important to hear from you if you no longer wish to greet or if you have any special calendar requests to be taken into consideration in creating the schedule for the next six months (July-Dec.). If you have updated contact information, please make sure to inform me so I can remind you when your week is approaching. Please let me know no later than May 27th. Please email Gary Nuss at [email protected] or call 570.916.4783.

Red Cross Blood Drive

Mission Opportunities
SC Disaster Response
The SC Disaster Response Team of the South Carolina Conference has identified a home in our community that was impacted by the historic flood of 2015 and Hurricane Matthew in 2016. The roof was compromised and is in need of being re-shingled. The Disaster Response Team is looking for volunteers to help repair the home. The job will consist of removing the preexisting shingles and laying new shingles.

If you are interested in helping one of our neighbors in need, the Disaster Team will be working on the house Monday, May 14 to Friday, May 18th. Volunteers can work either all week or for a part of the week. Please contact George Olive ([email protected]) if you are able to assist in this local mission project. A mandatory background check and forms need to be completed before you can volunteer.

Water Mission International
If you are interested in learning more about Water Mission International, join our mission team on Monday, May 7, at 5 PM in the Family Life Center. J.D. Meeder is coming to tell us about the program and how we can have a "walk" in our area to support this cause.

J-1 Visa Exchange Visitor Program
The J1 Visa program is looking for volunteers to help in many areas during the summer. This is a program that brings in young adults from other countries to work and learn our culture over the summer. They are in need of homes to stay in for the summer, help with travel, and more. Please contact Brandy Streett if you would like more information on helping with this exchange program ( [email protected], 843.357.5180).

Meal Mania 2018
Join a team for Meal Mania in October. The event will be held at Carolina Forest Community Church on October 12, 7 PM - 9 PM and October 13, 9 AM - 11 AM. Contact Brandy Streett if you are interested in helping with this cause ( [email protected] , 843.357.5180).
