It's finally nice outside and an opportunity to spend extra time with family and friends during Memorial Day weekend was lovely. And there are so many exciting programs and events taking place in our community very soon! 

The Israeli flags and our signature purple t-shirts are ready, our float is beautifully designed and the playlist is on play mode. We just can't wait for you to join us on Sunday, June 2nd, with your families joining the RSJ Community led by COJECO at the Celebrate Israel Parade.

This year's line-up includes celebrated Russian film and stage actor and Oscar nominee, Sergei Garmash , who will recite the masterpieces of Pushkin, Chekov, Brodsky and Yevtushenko. Mr. Garmash will be joined on stage by Peabody Award winning broadcaster, director and producer Elliott Forrest, and multi-Grammy Award nominated violinist Philippe Quint, who will perform an excerpt from his new show Charlie Chaplin's Smile

The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) will be hosting debt clinics.  Clinics include free, confidential, one-on-one financial counseling with a counselor from one of the  DCA Financial Empowerment Centers . Russian-speaking Facilitators Needed for 
Virtual Senior Center Program

Using simple video-chat technology, homebound seniors participate in online programs facilitated by volunteers in a wide-ranging array of topics. Volunteers lead recurring classes from their home or office computer with a range of flexible scheduling options during the day, evening or weekend.  Facilitating one hour, interactive classes on diverse topics enables you and the homebound seniors to have meaningful interactions. 

Selfhelp is looking for Russian-speaking facilitators for the Virtual Senior Center, to participate  in one hour  class (on any topic that facilitator chooses: music and art appreciation, history, current events, seated exercise, games, health/wellness, sports, the sciences, cultures, travel, and literature. Any new ideas are welcome!)
