MBX Summer School Registration and MBX Flex Registration are OPEN
Space is available in all classes!
Registration for both academic and summer athletic programs is now open for Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores. Freshman registration opens tomorrow, Thursday, 3/15 at 9am. Make sure to gegister for the grade your student will be entering in the fall.
The 2018 MBX Summer School Dates are:
Session 1: Monday, June 18 – Friday, July 6
Session 2: Monday, July 9 – Thursday, July 26
Classes will run Monday to Thursday, except for the week of July 4th when classes will be held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Academic courses meet from 8 am to 1:30 pm.

MBX Flex courses are available to students needing a more flexible summer school schedule. Space is available in all classes. Please check our website for more information and available courses by clicking  here . Classes can begin as early as June 18, 2018 and must be completed by August 10, 2018.

MBX hosts Summer Camps
for Kids
This summer MBX is partnering with several unique and popular summer camps which will be held on MBUSD campuses. These camps offer a wide variety of opportunities and activities for all grade levels, Kinder – 8th Grade. It was another busy month for all of the MCHS Band programs. The month started with a very successful All District Band Festival on March 1st featuring all of the districts bands, which includes elementary school through middle school, and all of the high school ensembles.
Surf Team is
Bay League Champions!
The 2018 undefeated Mira Costa Surf Team beat El Segundo on February 28th to become the Bay League Champions!
In addition, the team competed over the weekend in the California State Championships in San Diego and had their best finish ever, placing 2nd overall, just ahead of Huntington and behind San Clemente. READ MORE
Boys Golf kicks off season at Ayala Spring Classic Tournament
The Mira Costa Boys Golf team kicked off their season with the Ayala Spring Classic Tournament at Los Serranos Country Club on Feb. 26th. The Varsity team placed 7th with a team score of 397. Junior Max Huggins led the team on the South Course with a par 74. Two Boys JV teams also competed on the North Course earning 2nd and 5th place finishes with team scores of 404 and 427 respectively.

Mira Costa Drama/Tech’s Dessert Theatre is happening Thursday, March 22nd, at 7 pm in the MCHS Small Theatre. It’s a wonderful preview of theatre competitions including everything from Tech Olympics to
Girls Lacrosse has impressive preseason, 7-1!
Girls Lacrosse is off to an amazing start, winning their regular season games over Hamilton, Palisades and El Segundo, as well as winning the championship at the Rose Bowl Challenge last weekend. This past weekend they went 1 and 1 at the OC tournament, for an overall record of 7-1.

Costa boys tennis is off to a great start!
The Varsity team is 4-0 against Long Beach Poly, Loyola, Brentwood and Palm Desert. The JV team is 3-0 against Long Beach Poly, Loyola and Brentwood.
We are very excited to announce that senior, Evan Fortier has signed to play tennis at Bowdoin College. We are all so proud of Evan and wish him much success!

Costa Track starts season undefeated in Bay League!
Mira Costa Track had their first Bay League competition last week against Peninsula and Morningside.  All levels won against both schools. The current Bay League standings are 2-0 for Boys Frosh/Soph, Boys Varsity, Girls Frosh/Soph and Girls Varsity.

Girls Beach Volleyball “Best of the Beach” tournament results!
This weekend was the finals for the Mira Costa “Best of the Beach” tournament. This is a competitive, internal tournament.

The Mira Costa Swim & Dive season has officially begun!
The Mustangs opened their season last Thursday, March 1st, with the annual intrasquad Green & Gold meet. The 180 member team was split in two, and competed against each other for the coveted Mustang trophy.

Costa takes 5th place in Best of the West tournament,
plus more updates!
Mira Costa Boys Volleyball opened its season with a match against Santa Barbara High School at home on March 2nd. With a full crowd of Costa students to cheer them on, the Varsity squad defeated Santa Barbara in straight sets. The starting line-up included seniors Bobby Barkley, Max Cajuste, and Xander Wee; juniors Lauch Farris, Thomas Kretschmer, and Adam Sevier; and sophomore Jack Walmer. The Frosh/Soph team and JV teams also won, giving Costa a sweep of Santa Barbara. READ MORE

The Badminton Team recently participated in the Arcadia tournament. This tournament is a competition against four other schools.

Mixed Doubles: Lulu Yu & Moose Cohn won 2nd, Eric Mei & Scarlett Luo were Semifinalist
Girls Singles: Lulu won 1st and Scarlett won 2nd
Boys Singles: Eric won 1st and Moose was a Semifinalist
Girls Doubles: Audrey Mei & Audrey Kim were Semifinalists

Costa Ruggers Fall In Semi-Finals In Las Vegas International 7’
The Mira Costa Rugby Team entered the day as the #1 seed in the Plate Championship as they took on the Rigby Royals from Rigby, Idaho. The Mustangs jumped out early as Rob Fiene fed Jarem Cortez off a scrum as Cortez side stepped his defender and raced 44 meters for the opening Try and a 5-0 lead.  READ MORE

Cheer celebrates their
end of season!
Costa Cheer celebrated their season with a Banquet on March 3rd.
They said goodbye to 11 seniors this year, who will definitely be missed!

Shout out to Mira Costa Alumna, Abby Hong!
Mira Costa alumna, Abby Hong, won the 3,000 m and 5,000 m race at the Ivy League Indoor Track & Field Championship, earning two first-team All-Ivy Accolades and becoming the first Penn athlete to win the 3,000 m. Abby is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania and her wins helped her team to win the Championship for the first time since 1996!
