2019 Alumna Award Recipient Announced

We are honored to recognize Gwendolyn McCullough ’18, Chief of Staff for State Representative Michael Zabel (D-163) as the 2019 Alumna Professional Achievement Award recipient. McCullough has experienced swift success since graduating from the College and participating in Commencement last spring. Over the past year, she also graduated from West Chester University before becoming an important member of Representative Zabel’s team, overseeing the staff at his offices in Drexel Hill and the State Capitol in Harrisburg. We’re proud to honor a recent graduate who has accomplished so much in such a short period of time, and we look forward to sharing her detailed, inspiring story in the near future.

Spring Career Fair, April 10

The Student Employment Services & Co-Op Center is hosting a career fair on Wednesday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the STEM Center Lobby on the Marple Campus. More than 50 area employers from various fields will be on hand to meet with students and alumni looking for full-and part-time employment opportunities. New Choices Designer Bag Bing, May 8
College alumni, bingo lovers and fans of designer handbags are invited to the New Choices Career Development Program's Designer Bag Bingo which will take place on Wednesday, May 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Marple Campus Academic Building Café. Guests will be able to participate in Designer Bag Bingo in a casual, yet enjoyable atmosphere. Tickets are $35 per person or $25 for New Choices Alumni. Golf Classic, June 24
The 2019 Delaware County Community College Golf Classic will be hosted at Rolling Green Golf Club on June 24. Come enjoy a great day of challenging golf, delicious food and camaraderie on one of Delaware County’s most renowned courses.

CONNECTIONS
In honor of Women’s HERStory month, we would like to tell you about Mirella Battista ’06. Battista began her studies in 2004 as an international student from Brazil. She then transferred to Philadelphia University graduating summa cum laude recognition in 2010 and eventually went to work for Luxottica, the largest manufacturer of eyewear in the world. Now back in the classroom to obtain her second MBA, she is proud to say that “Delaware County Community College was my jumpstart for an amazing lifelong career.
