Join our quest to play, learn, explore and have FUN this summer!

Beginning June 16 we are embarking on our most exciting quest ever and we want YOU to join the fun. We have prepared a summer full of awesome educational and entertaining programs and events for everyone.

Play: The summer celebration begins at our branches on Saturday, June 16, with Summer Quest Kick-off Fairs around the county. Visit our branches throughout the summer to enjoy a full calendar of new and exciting family-friendly programs and special events. There will be acrobatics, Polynesian dancing, magic and sloths (but not all at once)! With performers ranging from The Academy of Natural Sciences to Flow Circus, be sure to check out our calendar to take full advantage of these free and unique programs.

Learn: We are challenging Bucks County with our most ambitious summer reading goal ever . Stop by your local branch to pick up your reading log, or download one from our website, and help us to read 4 MILLION minutes this summer! Remember to stop by your branch throughout the challenge to get your log stamped, record your minutes and add links to our reading chain.

Explore: Work together to complete the challenges on your reading log . Join the Badge Squad adventure to earn limited-edition badges throughout the summer. Meet members of the 4-H as they teach you to care for a wide variety of domestic animals. Check out a book or DVD of a new or different genre. Schedule an appointment with the Help Desk to finally learn how to use your new tablet or phone. We believe that learning is a lifelong pursuit, and we're excited to partner with you on your personal quest this summer.

Summer Quest is made possible, in part, through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program and these generous donors: Covenant Bank; Fred Beans Automotive; J.P. Mascaro & Sons; Waste Management, Inc.; and Weis Markets.
Free lunches at the Bensalem and Levittown branches!

This summer, Bucks County Free Library and Bensalem Township School District are proud to offer free lunches at the Bensalem and Levittown branches from 12:00 - 1:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, beginning June 18 through August 1.

ALL children 18 and under are welcome; no application or registration are required. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), offered by the United States Department of Agriculture, is a federally funded program to ensure that children continue to receive free, nutritious meals when school is not in session.

According to the Hunger Nutrition Coalition of Bucks County, more than 57,000 people in Bucks County are food insecure - 32% of them children. Bucks County Free Library is proud to partner with the Bensalem Township School District to host SFSP for the second year. Across the country, SFSP expects to serve more than 200 million free meals to children across the U.S. this summer.

The 2017 Annual Report is here!

In 2017 we hosted local author fairs, Elder Care 101 and pop-up storytimes. We launched the new RFID check out system, sensory storytimes for differently-abled children and the new cloudLibrary e-catalog. We "built a better world," we checked out a lot of DVDs and we helped people with their electronic devices.

We did so much, and YOU made it possible! 100% of your donations were immediately put to use to enhance our programs and services and enrich the Bucks County community. Read our 2017 Annual Report to learn more about Bucks County Free Library and the people who helped us to make an impact.
