We have enjoyed a busy May here at Bailey & Wyant, PLLC full of great events and people. It has been a whirlwind of a month and we are excited to share what we've been up to.
Managing Member Commemorates GeoFoam at Yeager Airport

Managing Member, Charles R. Bailey signed his name to the last layer of GeoFoam blocks for the Runway 5 EMAS rebuild project at Yeager Airport.

GeoFoam was chosen for safety concerns after the runway collapse in March of 2015. After the GeoFoam blocks are put into place, there will be a membrane that will keep the moisture out and then about 2-3 feet of dirt followed by black top. The system will allow for another 517 feet of runway.

Mr. Bailey has been an integral member of the team continuing to rebuild Yeager Airport with our community's safety in mind.

                    H.F. Salsbery
2019 Judicial AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®

H.F. Salsbery, Of Counsel at Bailey & Wyant, PLLC, has been awarded the 2019 Judicial AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell® - an achievement that speaks to the widespread respect he's earned from both peers and the Judiciary.

As one of the legal industry's oldest and most prestigious legal ranking organizations, Martindale-Hubbell has set the gold standard for objective Peer Review Attorney Ratings. According to Martindale, AV Preeminent is the organization's highest available rating, and it's given only to lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional performance in terms of legal acumen, analytical capability, trial skills, and ethical conduct. This level is highly sought after and only awarded to lawyers who've demonstrated unparalleled success, professional ability and who are rooted in high standards.

While Martindale's Peer Review Ratings have been a trusted guide for feedback form fellow legal practitioners, the organization has awarded a higher honor than their coveted AV rating. Martindale's Special "Judicial Edition" AV Preeminent Rating is awarded to lawyers based on the confidential opinions of not only their practicing peers, but also members of the Judiciary familiar with their work.

Congratulations to H.F. Salsbery on the highest possible distinction awarded by Martindale-Hubbell®.  Salsbery has dedicated his practice to areas that range from products liability and medical malpractice to commercial litigation with an emphasis on coal related issues. He has served as National Trial Counsel for defendants in mass tort cases involving welding rods, isocyanate exposure, and Chinese-manufactured drywall. While serving as an Assistant United States Attorney, he tried cases involving RICO, CCE, embezzlement, conspiracies and other matters; and he subsequently represented defendants in federal and state criminal prosecutions.

Salsbery has particular expertise in the coal industry and has handled matters related to almost every aspect of the industry. He has represented clients in coal related personal injury and wrongful death cases involving methane/coal dust explosions, electrocutions, equipment accidents, roof and high wall falls, and fires on the surface and underground. He has also represented clients in state and federal regulatory matters involving permit appeals and enforcement actions regarding air quality, water quality, subsidence, and noise.
Salsbery is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, and his genuine respect for peers, opponents and presiding judges has awarded him this highest honor.
