Vote for pro-labor, pro-arts and pro-copyright candidates on June 26!
All musicians in our union and across the country are impacted by federal policy. Copyright law and intellectual property regulations, immigration policy, transportation, arts funding, education, labor law and countless other topics directly affect our art, our careers, our communities and our families. Musicians have interests that need advocating for! Our union has made a series of early endorsements for Congress, including Hakeem Jeffries, Jerrold Nadler, Carolyn Maloney, Joseph Crowley, Adriano Espaillat and Kate Browning. Don't forget to vote on June 26! Sign up to volunteer here and find your polling location here.

The Music Modernization Act (MMA) is under threat by a competing bill called ACCESS. We must stop it!
The MMA, which Local 802 has endorsed, is a package of bills that update various components of copyright protections for songwriters and musicians. It has already passed the House of Representatives. These gains, though imperfect, are a strong step forward for musicians who need to protect their digital rights in order to make a living.
But that progress is under threat in the Senate. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) has introduced a bill called ACCESS that directly competes with the specific components of the MMA that will benefit musicians.
We need your help! Join Local 802 and the Content Creators Coalition by telling Senator Wyden to #SupportCLASSICS. Click here, then click the box that says TWEET!
