KAAR Political Report:
Washington DC Edition
Highlights from NAR's Annual Legislative Meetings in Washington DC last week:
CONGRATULATIONS to KAAR Past-President, Michael Pappas, for his induction into the RPAC Hall of Fame!

Mike joins Richard Levenson & Jerry Daves in this dynamic and dedicated group of Realtors who support the Realtor Party through investments in the Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC). Mike's name will be added to a permanent Wall of Fame at NAR’s Washington, D.C. building rooftop.

The Hall of Fame recognizes members who have made an aggregate lifetime investment amount of at least $25,000 in RPAC. Learn more about the Hall of Fame here.
HILL VISITS to speak with Rep. Tim Burchett and Sen. Marsha Blackburn were time well-spent advocating for issues important to Realtors and property owners. Sometimes we are on offense, other times we are on defense, but at all times we must be vigilant!

Priority issues include the re-authorization of the Natl Flood Insurance Program, fixing problematic rules and deadlines for Opportunity Zones, and passing the Equality Act to improve fair housing standards (it passed the House on Friday!).

Find detailed information regarding priority issues here.
PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP spoke to a packed room of Realtors during a special meeting on Friday. HUD Secretary Ben Carson was also in the audience.

The President was joined on stage by Bob Turner, a member of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, who spoke about the economic benefits of Opportunity Zone developments around the Shelby County area.

NAR invites all sitting Presidents to speak at the Legislative Meetings and most recently hosted then-sitting President George W. Bush in 2005.
