The Sterling Heights Regional Chamber is proud to announce the US Department of Transportation has given preliminary approval to the joint application by Macomb County, City of Sterling Heights and City of Warren for a $97.8 million Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant to help fund a $184.6 million reconstruction of Mound Road. This project is vitally important as the Mound Road Corridor is a major artery for national automotive, defense, aerospace and advanced manufacturing installations.
Chamber President and CEO Melanie Davis is a member of the Innovate Mound Executive Committee, the group assembled to apply for this grant and advocate for its approval, and the Chamber and several of its members supported the Innovate Mound efforts through calls, letter writing and more. A special thanks to our Michigan congressional delegation including Senator Peters, Senator Stabenow, Congressman Levin and Congressman Mitchell for their support of this initiative as well.
