Should we thank God
for earthquakes?
Earthquakes and tsunamis are examples of what's sometimes called "natural evil." While many atheists concede that moral evil exists in the world today, the idea of natural evil seems to prove either that God does not exist or, if He does, He is not a compassionate, all-powerful God worthy of worship. Not so fast.

You are predestined
Predestination is God's plan from eternity past to complete the work of redemption in every saint, fully conforming us to the image of His Son. But is this plan fatalistic, or is there room for human responsibility? Fourth in a series of excerpts from What Every Christian Should Know About Salvation .

Can I Get A Witness?
Brian Garcia is a former Jehovah's Witness who now serves as lead pastor of an evangelical church in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. His book, Can I Get A Witness? How to Understand and Set Free a Jehovah's Witness, is an excellent resource for understanding what JWs believe, how their beliefs differ from historic Christianity, and how to share your faith with those under the authority of the Watchtower.

Reaching Jehovah's Witnesses
California's Brian Pope has a fearless, gracious, and effective ministry to Jehovah's Witnesses, and he wants to share his insights with us, along with practical ideas for witnessing to JWs. Check out his free booklet, Reaching Jehovah's Witnesses .

You are called
While there is a general call to everyone to trust in Christ through the proclamation of the gospel, God also extends an effectual call to those He foreknew, elected, and predestined. For every child of God, there is a time when the Holy Spirit draws him or her personally to faith in Christ, resulting in belief and repentance that lead to everlasting life.

Show Me Why
Missouri Baptists are blessed with local church leaders who take an active role in defending the Christian faith. A dozen of them have contributed chapters to a new book: Show Me Why: Thoughts from Missouri Baptists on Defending the Christian Faith.
