Are You Prepared?
It is difficult to say when I first heard the term "Active Shooter". One day it was just a part of my vocabulary. As these incidents continue to occur, we're seeing more disaster preparedness taking place; from Universities holding Active Shooter Trainings to prepare faculty and staff, to emergency service personnel devising plans for action.

The NFPA released the NFPA 3000™ (PS): STANDARD FOR AN
ACTIVE  SHOOTER/HOSTILE  EVENT RESPONSE (ASHER) PROGRAM May 1st.

We service a variety of service industries. And the NFPA 3000 Fact Sheet mentions this standard isn't just for fire services. From policymakers, to emergency services, to the public; all stakeholders should be working together. And Codepal wants to lend a hand. It is difficult to say what will be the result of the NFPA 3000 standard, but we're watching for its release, so we can assist in any way possible. However, we already have some ways you can use the software.

PREPLANNING
Many of you are already using the preplan viewer, editor or the preplan configuration to track your preplans. You're in the buildings, can we help planning for hostile events through the preplan set up? Absolutely! Assess risks, map details about the building, prepare a plan.

COMMUNICATION
Communicating plans of active shooter programs can be done through reporting; email, print and/or mail.

INVESTIGATION and REPORTING
Anytime there is an event of this magnitude, an investigation follows. Regardless of what industry you serve, you may need to report how your staff handled the crisis. Through our investigation configuration, you can quickly collect details after an event and print out reports from the software. No more pouring hours into a word document.
Upcoming Events:
May 16-18, 2018
Bob Lee will be speaking to the Environmental Show of the South in Chattanooga, Tn.
