Dear Parents and Students:
This is a very busy week for our seniors as we celebrate their accomplishments and their big goal toward graduation on Saturday, June 1. This week, SJND honors our seniors with the
Senior Recognition Night
tonight, May 21 at 6:00 p.m.
in the Kelly Gym. In addition, on Friday, May 24 during our Collab periods, we will host the
Senior Presentation Assembly
in front of the entire school community, during which we also invite each of the classes to move forward “one bleacher,” signifying them taking the next step toward their ultimate goal of graduation.
On Wednesday, May 22, SJND will celebrate the
Achieve Scholarship Senior Celebration
. Achieve is a fantastic scholarship program, founded by Ms. Barbara Bakar. The Achieve scholarship program provides scholarships for our SJND students, as well as tutoring assistance, college guidance, summer internships and work study, and all types of cultural trips - what an extraordinary program. SJND will graduate its first Achieve scholarship students at this year’s graduation - it is truly a proud moment in the life of our school.
I wish all of our students the very best as they now prepare for
Final Exams
which begin when they return from the Memorial Day weekend, on Tuesday, May 28. Please check the Final Exams schedule for a listing of the times and periods for exams. Exams are an important part of the student’s academic transcript, demonstrating a student’s overall content knowledge and progress in a given subject. Please do not neglect your studies for final exams.
As always, thank you for all that you do! Go Pilots!
Mr. Jennings
Principal
