Hot Breakfast
We will not have breakfast this coming Sunday, May 6,
due to Derby weekend. The next breakfast will be Sunday, May 20, to be provided by guest chefs, Peter & Alissa Finnis.    
 
Please plan on joining everyone in Board Hall between 8:30am and 9:45 where you will not only enjoy great food but a time for fellowship.   
   
Daughters of the King 
This month's Daughters of the King meeting will meet at 6:30pm on May 8 in Board Hall and is open to all women of the church.  Our guest this month is our own St. Luke's Organist and Choir Director, Lisa Lewis.  Lisa will be speaking about liturgical music.  If you've ever wondered how the hymns each Sunday seem to fit so well with the service and how our music helps to lead us in worship, please join us!  It will be a wonderful and informative meeting.
 
The Order of the Daughters of the Kings purpose is to bring others into a living, loving relationship with Jesus Christ, and to help strengthen the spiritual life of our parishes and missions. It is open to all women 16 years and older.  We encourage all women interested to attend this meeting and learn more about us!
 
CPR/AED Training 
We are seeking volunteers to be trained in CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).

This is a one hour +/- course conducted by Middletown Fire Department in Board Hall on Saturday, May 19 at 10:00 AM.

NOTE- if you took a previous class and the date on your certification card is over two years old, you are due to get recertified.

St. Luke's Book Club
YOU ARE INVITED to St Luke's Book Club on May 8 at 6:30.

We meet at the Lyman House, every SECOND (2 nd) Tuesday monthly at 6:30 PM for 2+- hours of rousing conversations and introductions to books of almost every genre.

At the end of each meeting, we discuss books for the next month's selection, so bring your suggestions with you.
 
Come one and all!!
Please join us as we celebrate Pentecost ~ the birthday of the Church ~ and also honor the youth of St. Luke's  during our Parish Picnic on May 20th  -  immediately following the 10:00am  Youth-led Eucharist!

Hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixings, and also beverages will be provided. All are invited to bring a dish to share.

Please plan to join us on the Lyman House lawn for this most special occasion! Be sure to bring a folding chair for sitting, or a blanket if the ground is dry enough.

Spring Foyer Groups Sign Up 
Foyer Groups are groups of 6-8 (could be more) people that meet for a meal (at someone's home or at a restaurant). Every person (or couple) takes a turn arranging a meeting.  After the Spring meetings, new groups will begin in the Winter.
 
Besides having fun and getting to know each other, Foyer Groups offer an excellent opportunity to discuss where our church is now, where it is going and how we feel.   Of course, the groups have no assigned topics and people may just want to let the conversations ramble and flow, laugh and have a good time.
 
Sign-ups will go through May, with sign up sheets at both narthex entrances.

Celebrating the Fifth Anniversary of the Martin Pasi Organ, Opus 22 
Organists Dr. Robert Bozeman and Lisa Lewis will play a recital to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost and the 5th anniversary of the dedication of the Martin Pasi organ on May 20 beginning at 5:30pm. 

The program will include settings of the Pentecost plainsong "Veni creator spiritus" ('Come, holy Spirit') by DeGrigny, Schroeder and King, a Sonata by Rheinberger, Rubrics by Locklair, and a Fantasie for two performers at one organ! 

This is the last event scheduled in the Music Series for 2017-2018.  Plans are in the works for the 2018-2019 season!
