The first woman to lead Jesuit Refugee Service/USA told the newest graduates of the School of Nursing & Health Studies to keep the values that they have learned front and center.

Commencement speaker Susan Thompson Hingle, MD, implored the new doctors to embrace gratitude, become an advocate, take the path less traveled and practice self-care.
While they came with different experiences and backgrounds, students graduating from Georgetown's Biomedical Graduate Education programs share a love for learning and a passion for science.

It was a family affair as nine medical students representing the Air Force, Army and Navy graduated from the Health Professions Scholarship Program at the School of Medicine military commissioning ceremony.
Members of the School of Medicine graduating class, their families and friends gathered in the historic Gaston Hall to celebrate their accomplishments and hear moving remarks from William (Billy) Hoffman (M'19). 

The annual awards banquet recognizes the achievements of students who had to overcome significant challenges on their way to medical school.

In addition to honoring the newest MAGIS Society inductees, the recipients of the Kaiser Permanente Awards, CIRCLE Grants, Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award and Mother of Pearl Awards were celebrated at the 17th annual event.

Joining the 46 members of the MAGIS Society of Master Teachers inducted since its inception in 2003, Myers and Steen were recognized for their commitment to students.
After four years on the Literature and Medicine track, graduating medical students know first-hand how literature and medical narratives can help increase empathy and decrease burnout.

A Georgetown-led study published in JAMA Network Open and funded by the Women's Interagency HIV study (WIHS) looks at the barriers preventing HIV+ women from sustaining controlled levels of viral suppression, including having to confront daily challenges arising from their mental health and lack of social support.

As many as 90 percent of individuals who have a parent with Huntington's disease (HD) choose not to take a gene test that reveals if they will also develop the fatal disorder - and a new study published in Clinical Genetics details the reasons why.
