A note from Chapter President, Tracy Miller

Greetings Tucson NAWIC #122 and Friends!

It was an honor and privilege to be elected as your president on October 7th. The trust and confidence that you expressed in me was both humbling and inspiring.

This is an exceptional group of professionals to lead forward to strengthen and amplify the success of women in the construction industry. I pledge the agility of my hands, the ability of my mind and the integrity of my heart to this purpose.

As your leader. I will be courageously committed to the inclusion and growth of our association and its members. I will work tirelessly, always being certain to give due diligence to meeting the expectations of this group. The shoes of those that have come before me are large shoes, indeed. I will give my all in trying to fill them.

This is going to be an exciting journey we will take together!

Congratulations to NAWIC Tucson Chapter #122 New Board of Directors 2020-2021.

The installation dinner was on October 7th at Hotel Tucson. We enjoyed a great turn out for this event. Seeing everyone was wonderful, masks and all. I hope everyone had a nice time with each other catching up. The current circumstances with the pandemic greatly limited the opportunity for us to enjoy each other’s company and learn of each other’s happenings this year. Hopefully, soon this circumstance will resolve as we look forward to being with each other again at our membership dinner on November the 11th.

This month, our local membership boasts the following:

*On October 9th Cornerstone held their 25th Annual Golf Tournament. Susan Stein Kregar and I manned the betting hole to raise money for our NAWIC scholarship fund. Together we raised $1,191.00!

*NAWIC Tucson Chapter #122 held its 17th Annual Shirley Dail bowling tournament on October 10th. A huge thank you to all our sponsors, bowlers, and their generosity. The Shirley Dail Scholarship Fund is thriving, and we look forward to distributing funds to more students in the construction industry.

A big thank you to the volunteers: Sandy Lipe, Florence Bramlett, Mary Bohm, Susan Stein Kregar, and Laura Edwards. Karen Ellis our Pacific Southwest Region (PSW) President was that the bowling tournament and pitched in help out.  We exceeded our goal and raised over $5,800.00 for scholarships!
