QUOTE OF THE WEEK
When Saint Augustine was giving the Eucharist to a new communicant, instead of saying, “The Body of Christ,” he would sometimes say “Receive what you are.”
Looking for more? Here is a weekly reflection on the Eucharist:
DID YOU KNOW?
PREPARATION OF THE ALTAR

A white cloth called a corporal (from the Latin word for body, because upon it will rest the Body of Christ) is placed on the altar along with the Roman Missal containing the prayers. The bread and wine in sacred vessels are also brought to the altar table, similar to the preparations you would make at home for a feast. But this is more than a festive meal; it is also a sacrifice. “The Christian altar is by its very nature a table of sacrifice and at the same time a table of the paschal banquet” (Rite of Dedication of a Church and Altar #4).

PICTORIAL DIRECTORY
As St. Margaret Mary parish community, we are one body in Christ. As such, we need to know who each other are so we are getting ready for a new Parish Pictorial Directory. It has been five years since our last one and we would like to include the entire Body of Christ and that includes YOU! We are not complete without 100% participation. Photography dates are August 8-13. Online appointment scheduling has begun. We are in need of many volunteers to make this directory a success. More information and volunteer sign-up can be found on our website .

In the summer when kids are home from school, the demand for food at the food pantries increases significantly. Please continue to support them with your food donations, and if you can pick up a couple additional items on your next grocery visit, it would help tremendously.  Find out what to bring this week.
