A Note from Sally Sachar, Executive Director
What a wonderful Leadership Shabbat we had on Friday evening. Mazel Tov to all of our incoming leaders for the Sisterhood, Temple Board, and Youth Group. We look forward to working with ALL OF YOU. And we offer enormous gratitude to our departing leaders as well. We've learned immeasurably from you, and hold you, your leadership and your dedication in very high esteem. Please keep an eye out for more information about our incoming BJBE leaders at the beginning of the 2018-19 fiscal year (July 1 or soon thereafter).
Don't miss our final
Matzah Ball Shabbat of the year. We've gotten rave reviews on the soup and Challah and want to see as many of you as possible on Friday, June 15 at 5:15pm for soup and 6:00pm for our Family Shabbat Service. Please bring your friends and neighbors, too, who may be interested in joining BJBE. We'll have lots of information about membership possibilities, including learning about our
special pricing for new families enrolling their oldest child in Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade Sunday School!
Bon Voyage to our teens, clergy, and staff who are heading off this week for their amazing adventure on the 20th Anniversary Teen Mission to Kolin and Israel. We cannot wait to hear all about it upon their return! Meanwhile, please join us in following the adventure on the BJBE
FB Community Group and our
JLC Instagram. We know this will be an unforgettable journey. Thank you to the scores of BJBE congregants who have supported this trip through your engagement and generosity. Without you the adventure would not be possible!
We now have the recording of the
125th Anniversary Shabbat up on YouTube at
this link. We apologize greatly for the length of time it took to get this posted on line due to technical difficulties. That said, we now have a solution our streaming more broadly and have also posted the recording of the 125th at the above link. We appreciate the patience of our 125th Committee.
We also want to call your attention to the
Adult B'nai Mitzvah sign-up. Phyllis Steiner, who has led this successful, compelling and meaningful program for years, is eager to hear of your interest for the 18-19 cohort, if you are inclined to participate this year. Please contact
Phyllis to learn more.
Finally, be sure to let us know if you have
Mazel Tov Moments you want us to celebrate in
This Week. Please send those to
Anne Robbin.
Have a wonderful week.

SOCIAL ACTION NETWORK
Luggage for Freedom's goal is to provide a sense of dignity to women who are staying at and transitioning out of domestic violence and homeless shelters, by giving them a suitcase packed with some personal and household items. To that end, Luggage for Freedom provides gently used luggage packed with new towels, new sheets, and new toiletries to women leaving local domestic violence shelters to start their lives anew. We also provide backpacks filled with books and stuffed animals for children. We pack an average of approximately 200 suitcases and over 100 backpacks and deliver them to 9 local shelters. Luggage for Freedom has an incredible ability to directly impact women and children in a positive way, at a time when they are most vulnerable.
