A lot of us, myself included, did not grow up with positive reinforcement. We were not told we could be or do anything we wanted, even if our wish was just to be happy. Whatever you've brought with you to this book, you can't allow those experiences, even traumas, to define you or limit you. And maybe you are afraid that if you say what you want, someone will hear you. You fear the judgment of a loved one, or worry that your growth might be a threat to that person. But right now, let's just talk amongst ourselves. You and me. I know I am still unlearning everything I was taught as a kid. When I was down, people told me that was where I would stay.
