City of Morgan Hill Weekly 411
Week of May 19 , 2019
Happy Weekend Morgan Hill!

Although we have had some rain this week, with more still to come, the reality of fire danger in our community is still very real as we move into the summer months. We all need to be prepared and making every effort to prevent wildfires.  There's still time to sign-up for our last FREE Fire Prevention and Preparedness Seminar which will be held tomorrow morning from 10:00 a.m. - noon at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center.  Please see the details in the body of this email.

In the coming week we have two important meetings that we hope you will consider attending.  On Tuesday, May 21st, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., we will have a community meeting regarding the proposed Morgan Hill Technology Park (Trammell Crow).
In response to many questions and concerns about this project we felt it was important to engage the community in an open and honest conversation about this proposed project. This meeting will provide the opportunity to have an open dialogue about this proposed project and the factual information that is currently available. We hope you will be able to join us, but if you are unable to attend the meeting will be recorded and streamed live on the City website. Please see further details in the body of this email.

On Wednesday, May 22nd, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. we will kick off Engage Morgan Hill, a community conversation about services, priorities and funding. The evening will include the mid-cycle budget check-in, financial projections for our future and an overview of the Engage Morgan Hill process. The entire community is encouraged to attend.
We are also in the process of creating our Engage Morgan Hill Community Advisory Group. If you or someone you know would be interested in participating in this way please let us know at be emailing [email protected]. .

Make it a great week ahead! We look forward to your ongoing engagement and participation in all aspects of community life and local government in Morgan Hill.

PUBLIC PROJECTS UPDATES AND MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES

CURRENT WATERING SCHEDULES

Water is always a precious resource in Morgan Hill and with this in mind, our permanent watering restrictions have been designed to best manage the City's potable water supply. These restrictions will help us avoid or minimize the effects of drought, climate change and the unreliability of the imported water infrastructure that serves the City of Morgan Hill.

Complete rules and restrictions can be found in  Water Waste Ordinance No. 2236. Customers can report water waste online or by calling the Water Waste Hotline at 408-310-4195. For more information, visit mhvalueswater.com, email [email protected] or call 408-310-4169. Thank you for conserving water!

County of Santa Clara ReduceWaste.org Cup Campaign

Reduce Waste- Bring Your Own Cup
About 85% of the people in Santa Clara County own a  reusable  travel cup or mug, but only 15% actually use it regularly. So why the difference?

Remember your mug/cup
Even though most of us are supportive of using reusable cups and helping the environment, we have trouble remembering  to bring our cup with us. We have busy lives and it's easy to forget.

Over 120 billion disposable cups are used every year in America, and each cup is only used for about an hour. Using a reusable cup regularly is one easy way to live up to your environmental values and join the movement to reduce use of disposables!
