HI , I hope you are all having some sort of fun out there.

In this news letter there are some amazing people featured also some companies with some great products.

Who also must have some amazing creative people working for them  or there products would probably suck! :)

A few people have commented especially some graphic designers that they thought the photo above with the fly rod,flies,dog and fire was all photo shopped, only the back ground was turned black and white.

Trust me the rod,flies,fire and my old dog in the photo managed to last long enough with the flames and heat for me to pull off the shot a few years ago.

I had been waiting on the farmer burning off the logs near my house for over a year and when i saw the flames it was a mad rush to set up the shot.

 This winter behind the scenes, There is lots going on and its always fun trying to stay creative yet somehow always costs money! in the end. Soon I hope to be traveling overseas and getting some more fly casting , teaching lessons from a fly casting/teaching legend and working on some new popper style flies.

A NZ MADE FLY ROD SET
My good friend in NZ has been busy for the past year working on a super strong and powerful NZ made fly rod, NZ made fly reel,fly line,leader and tippet all made in NZ.

This will be a NZ first.
Everything has been finished and its all being tested out this NZ winter.
He's not too sure of the costs for production yet or if it will be totally viable or he just will not tell me.
Though from the great kiwi workmanship and what I have seen,held and cast its  been a pretty special secret  project until now. I will have to wait for his permission before releasing some photos though.

Hopefully the next news letter and if not it will be for the start of the season the photos and fly rod set will be released. for all to see.
There will be a high chance you will all want the full set.

 The shop is open all winter thanks to my so helpful neighbors and Trigger sending out your orders worldwide.

                      A WEE JOKE
A man is stumbling through the woods ,totally drunk,when he comes,upon a preacher baptizing people in the river.

He proceeds into the water,subsequently bumping into the preacher.The preacher turns around and is almost overcome by the smell of alcohol,where upon,he asks the drunk "Are you ready to find Jesus?"

The drunk shouts "Yes i am!"

So the preacher grabs him in the water.He pulls him back and asks"brother, have you found Jesus?"
The drunk replies "No ,I haven't found Jesus.

The preacher shocked at the answer,dunks him in again but for a little longer.He pulls him out of the water and asks "Have you found Jesus,brother?"

The drunk answers "No , I haven't found Jesus!"

By this time the preacher is at his wits end and dunks the drunk again- but this time holds him down for about 30 seconds and when he begins kicking  his arms and legs about,he pulls him up.

The preacher again asks the drunk "For the love of God ,have you found Jesus?!"

The drunk staggers upright,wipes his eye,coughs up a bit of water, catches his breath and says to the preacher"Are you sure this is where he fell in?"

A great looking Mirror Carp caught on a carp GIMP fly in the USA along with quite a few more beasts Dylan tells me.

Dylan has been camped out at one of my favorite carp waters (where the Gimp fly design was finished and field tested back in 2007)and keeps sending me photos to make me jealous and its working :). Its a shame Australia has a big problem with these fish.

This Line Tack system by Carbon Marine, however, is pretty darn close to perfect.  They're essentially rubber "spikes" that you can mount via their adhesive bases around the edge of the bow. THE FEATHER THIEF , book just somehow found it's way into my hands in the book shop, maybe just the word feather got me I,m such a  fly tying geek. I could not believe its about fly tying!! and a true story.

  The undercover cop book is a good read especially if you have lived in the UK , I found it more interesting and gripping than I thought, i would have. A true account of the UK drugs scene with a great twist at the end.
