Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County breaks ground on two new homes in Long Branch and Keansburg
Freehold, NJ Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County will host two ground breaking ceremonies for homes in Long Branch and Keansburg in June. 

On Tuesday, June 12, Habitat Monmouth will break ground at 229 Seaview Ave in Long Branch for the House that Youth Built. The City of Long Branch donated the land for the new home construction, major funding for the project was provided by Monmouth County HOME funds along with a partnership with Long Branch High School's Project Lead the Way program. In early April, a family was selected as the homeowner for the project. The newest partner family is expecting their first child, and will work with Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County to complete mandatory sweat equity and acquire an affordable mortgage. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 am. 

In Keansburg, Habitat Monmouth will break ground on Tuesday, June 19 for the House that Rock Built for A Veteran at 153 Maple Ave in Keansburg at 9:30 am. The project is a collaboration with 95.9 WRAT who has worked with Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County to secure support for the new home construction. Habitat Monmouth is presently looking for a partner family for the home, applicants must be a veteran who have served in the active military and who were discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable. "It is fitting that we commence these project during National Homeownership Month, homeownership is transformational, these projects will help two families build a better life for their families in a safe and affordable space," she added. 

Since 2002, National Homeownership Month has celebrated the benefits of homeownership and its ability to bring families, neighborhoods, and communities together throughout the country. Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County is equally invested in helping families and neighborhoods by building new homes, assisting homeowners with repairs and engaging in neighborhood revitalization efforts.
