Here's What Your Husband / Dad / Man Friend Really Wants for Father's Day
As Father's Day approaches on Sunday, June 17th, many are now commencing their annual "what should we get dad?" musings.

Can I be honest for a second here? Men are SUPER hard to shop for.

Unless you have clear directions, it's kind of a guessing game. My own husband, for example, is generally pretty sorted. He's got his razors that he likes, one specific cast iron pan that he uses every day, and more shoes than I do. (Please don't tell him I said that.)

If you're really into the whole gift-giving thing, we aren't judging you. But as we always do when this time of year rolls around, we would like to take a moment to urge you to give that special dad an experience rather than a physical object. Here's why:

✓ An experience creates memories that will stay with you longer
✓ It models to our kids the value of moments together over things
✓ It greatly reduces clutter in our homes

If you need ideas, check out our blog on the topic, 8 Gift Ideas that Don't Cause Clutter

Which brings us to an exciting announcement! In honor of the rad dads out there, Organizers Northwest is having a 10% off Father's Day Special!

***CONFESSION: I just stopped myself from calling this a Garage Organizing special because that kind of makes the assumption that a dad's only true real estate is the garage. But lots of dads I know have hobbies other than their tool bench. Whether it's the kitchen, workout room or coin collection, we are here to help.

Here's how to claim your 10% off. Call our office at 503-245-3564. Mention the top secret code Dad is Rad, and we will take 10% off of the organizing job, AND we will send you a fancy gift certificate to fill out.

It is probably also worth mentioning that, as NAPO Members, we receive 25% off of all products at Storables, which we will extend to you any time you work with us.

So whatever room in your home could use a solid organization makeover, we will make the dad in your life super happy by getting it done.

Happy Organizing!

Repair Fair at the Beaverton Library

Do you have items to repair that are hanging around the house and causing clutter? Now is your chance to get them fixed and give them new life!

"Repair Fairs" are events where volunteers with repair skills help you to fix broken items. The volunteers may be able to repair small appliances like blenders or coffee makers, jewelry, bikes or clothing that needs a new button or a zipper fix. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, learn useful skills and keep usable items out of the landfill - a win for everyone!

Room-By-Room Organizing Series, Month 4: The Kid's Room

This blog is month 5 in a 12 month organizing series. To sign up to receive this series, visit this blog and use the right hand sidebar form to join the mailing list.

Of all the rooms in the house, kid's rooms seem to receive the most wear and tear. And that's a good thing; it means your kid is actually USING their room for it's intended purpose - to be a kid in!

If your child is choosing to play in other rooms, that's no problem, but it COULD mean that their room is too cluttered for them to really enjoy or find what they are looking for. If this is the case, a good old fashioned decluttering session is the best way to get organized.
