LETTER FROM THE ACTING DIRECTOR

Dear Friends,
tim photo
On April 12th, I accompanied USAID Chief-of-Staff Dr. Bill Steiger at the launch of the Doctors with Africa (CUAMM USA).  CUAMM shared results and best practices of its health cooperation projects, while announcing the opening of its U.S. Office.

The organization operates in 7 sub-Saharan African countries  by partnering with h ospitals, health centers, villages, and universities. Their interventions f ocus on reproductive health, nutrition, infectious and non-communicable diseases, and trauma.

Their Director, Msgr. Dante Carraro, eloquently summed up CUAMM's vision : " In a globalized world, the commitment to health in Africa cannot be a problem for only a few people. We must do more and do better with Africa because health must be shared [...].If in the future Africa is at peace and healthy, we will all benefit from it."

Sincerely,

Timothy Lavelle
