Libraries Lead! 
Helping our Neighbors.
Representatives from QCAir and Esperanza Legal Services will be at the Library  Saturday, May 5 from 10am until 2pm, to provide information on various
immigration situations and how to become a U.S. Citizen. Attendees will be able  to ask questions and get help with forms regarding their own immigration status.
This workshop is FREE. No registration is required.

LAST MONTH to experience the new 1-74 Bridge - Virtually!  
The Library is honored to be the first to host IDOT and Iowa State University's 1-74 Bridge Virtual Reality Exhibit. Put on a VR headset and fly over and under the bridge, walk along the new bike path, dive into the Mississippi River, and experience riding in a car on the new 4-lane road. The exhibit, located on the 2nd floor, is free and open to the public during library hours through May.

Explore German American heritage during the Library's May day festival.  Highlights include Maypole dances taught by the German American Heritage Center, Music by Barefoot Becky, and Scherenschnitte paper cutting.  A family event for all ages.  No registration required.

For children birth - 36 months
Nurture your baby and toddler's love of books through music, movement, stories and art exploration while helping develop language, motors and social skills.

Illinois Veterans' History Project

The Moline Public Library is looking for veterans to contribute their stories to the Illinois Veterans' History Project. This project was launched by Secretary of State Jesse White to create a permanent record of the names and stories of Illinois war veterans and civilians who served our state and country during war, so that their contributions will not be forgotten. Veterans who live in or have lived in Illinois are eligible to participate. Interviews will be held at the Moline Library May 14-26. Contact the library to schedule an interview time and pick up pre-interview paperwork. This program is developed pursuant to a Library Services and Technology act grant administered by the Illinois State Library using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. Noon-Day Series featuring The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Friday, May 4 at Noon
The most well-known Great Lakes shipwreck.  The Edmund Fitzgerald disappeared into a stormy Lake Superior in 1975.  Rochelle Pennington will delve into the theories and opposing views  of dive detectives still trying to solve the mystery of what really happened on that fateful day.  Part of the Library's noon-day series featuring a variety of programming.

Immigration and Citizenship Workshop
Saturday, May 5 at 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
In partnership with QCAir and Esperanza Legal Services.  Workshop will provide information on various immigration situations and basic steps to become a U.S. Citizen.  Attendees can ask questions and receive help with forms.  The workshop is free and no registration required.

Orphan Trains

Angie Snook will share research, photograms and stories from the Orphan Trains.  Over the span of 8 decades, 200,000 orphaned or abandoned children were relocated from the streets of New York to rural areas, many in our area. 

Little Women Film Screening

Ancestry Basics Class

Learn the basic features of the Ancestry for Libraries database. Teen Summer Reading Decorating Party
