Congratulations to Ms. Chelsea Terrell for being named April Teacher of the Month This is her teaching philosophy: She strives daily to bring acceptance and tolerance to students with disabilities. She has always had a knack for working with individuals with exceptionalities but she knows this isn't the case for all. She believes that it is important to bring awareness to the fact that all individuals can learn even though they may look, speak, or behave "differently". This year she has been able to take her passion for educating individuals with disabilities and her desire to bring acceptance to these individuals and mold the two together through the peer mentorship program. She can't express her gratitude enough to Milton High School and their students who choose to participate in this program. She feels it is truly remarkable to watch the two populations of students work together as one.
Congratulations to Ms. Hillary Reiner for being named April Professional of the Month. This is what was said about her: Hillary is an exceptional counselor, who is trusted by students, colleagues, and parents. She always greets students with a smile, and goes above and beyond to help students and families on her caseload. Not only do students come to her with questions and problems, but teachers and co-workers do as well. We are very lucky to have her in the counseling department, as her initiative and creativeness have truly bettered the group as whole. Specifically, she has brought countless new ideas to the counseling department and coordinated events for our students (including yoga and anxiety workshops just to name a few!). Furthermore, she strives to make Milton a better and more positive place.
