 GW Cardiovascular Researchers Interest (CRI) Group Conference Launched  

Beginning in November 2017, GW Cardiology faculty, GW School of
Medicine and Health Sciences basic scientists, and faculty from GW
Biomedical Engineering meet monthly to promote awareness of
cardiovascular related research activities on the GW campus and to
stimulate future cross-disciplinary research.

Women's Heart Health at Global Law Firm  

  
Dr. Jannet Lewis, Director of GW Women's Heart Center, visited DLA Piper, a global law firm in DC, to discuss Women and Heart Disease. Stasia Kelly, Managing Director of DLA Piper Americas and a member of GW Heart & Vascular Institute's Board of Directors, hosted the program to discuss the unique nature of women's heart health and how women can recognize cardiovascular risk.

Professor of Nephrology and Head of the Division of Nephrology at
Paris Ouest University, Ambroise Paré Hospital, Paris, France,
discussed the role of calcium in cardiovascular disease at a joint
program hosted by the GW Division of Nephrology and GW Division of
Cardiology for the GW Heart & Vascular Institute's Bloedorn
Interdisciplinary Cardiology Lecture Series.
American Heart Association's Dotter Memorial Lecturer Delivers GW Cardiology Grand Rounds  
 
Dr. Anthony Venbrux, GW Professor of Radiology and Surgery and Director of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology was the 2017 Charles T. Dotter Memorial Lecturer at AHA Scientific Sessions 2017. Dr. Venbrux delivered his AHA talk "Venous Imaging and Complex Venous Interventions," for GW Cardiology Grand Rounds organized this month by Dr. Allen Solomon. 




 
Dr. Timothy McCaffrey's Genomic Research Team Presents New Findings at GW SMHS Research Day  
    
D r. Tim McCaffrey, Director of the Division of Genomic Medicine, and his research team in collaboration with Drs. Jonathan Reiner, Ramesh Mazhari, and Richard Katz, presented "RNA Sequencing identifies Long Non-Coding RNAs Related to Multiple Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Disease," this month at GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences Research Day.
