UPCOMING PROGRAM

This week we welcome Kristin Carter of Take Stock In Children and Goodwill Industries.  For over 20 years, TSIC of Duval County has been changing the lives of deserving (or under-served) children by combining in-school support through a college success coach, the promise of a college or vocational school tuition scholarship and most importantly the guidance of a caring mentor.
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Last week we welcomed Adam Campbell, Immediate Past Chair of the TPC. Mr Campbell gave insights into The Player's Championship and how TPC Sawgrass kicks off and sets the tone for golf season with the most difficult field, biggest purse and the most charitable golf tournament on the PGA. He spoke of the move from May to March bringing in all weather conditions (20 mph winds, rain, cold and hot temperatures). Also, with more than 200,000 people coming through the gates in 2018, The Player's has a huge economic impact to the surrounding areas! If you are in a position to volunteer or attend, we urge you to support this incredible event in our city!

2019 President

Crump Kirby Memorial Golf Tournament
On Monday, May 20, 2019, the Southside Business Men's Club (SBMC) Charities will hold its 24th Annual Youth Achiever Charity Golf Classic at San Jose Country Club.

This year we continue to Honor and Memorialize the Founder of this event, Mr. CRUMP KIRBY who passed away on January 31, 2018. Crump's vision and heartfelt dedication is the backbone of the Youth Achiever Charity Golf Classic. From His idea to reality Crump Kirby was the heartbeat of this annual fundraising event. Please help us continue to make His Dream and His Love for the Kids, who are the Future of Our Community!

Proceeds from this event fund the Youth Achiever Program Scholarship Fund. The SBMC is seeking donations for Hole Sponsorships and silent auction items. Your contribution will be a tremendous enhancement to the fundraiser, at the same time promoting your business.

Since 1994, the SBMC has been helping students in our community by ensuring that School Safety Patrol members from qualifying schools can attend the annual school trip to Washington, D.C., regardless of the child's financial situation. In addition, high school seniors who participated at qualifying schools are eligible to apply for a $5,000 yearly college scholarship based on academic performance. Furthermore, we present one
University of North Florida student with the Pauline Smith Scholarship Award. This $2,000 scholarship is awarded to the runner up of the UNF Harry Truman Scholarship Award competition.

In appreciation for your tax-deductible donation, the SBMC will acknowledge your company on the Event Banner, Hole Sponsor Sign and Award Banquet. If your generosity extends to our Silent Auction, you will receive recognition at the Award Banquet.

We are a 501(c) (3) organization and our Florida Department of Revenue certificate number is on file. If you'd like more information about the Youth Achiever Program and the SBMC, please visit our website at  www.SBMCcharity.org.
