Middle School Student Named Berks Nature's Youngest Ambassador!
Ian Metzgar, a 13-year-old seventh grader from Wilson West Middle School, completed a 25-hour volunteer training course to become Berks Nature's youngest Berks Nature Ambassador.  This program trains volunteers in water and land conservation so that they may lead projects, answer questions and train others to further enhance and protect our environment. Because of the success of Ian's involvement with the program, a formal Berks Nature Junior Ambassador program is being developed for Fall 2018.  More information regarding Berks Nature, the Berks Nature Ambassadors, and Eco-Camp can be found at www.berksnature.org/.  Way to go Ian!

Wilson Sophomore Takes 4th in the State TrigSTAR Competition

TrigSTAR is an annual mathematics competition for high school students sponsored by the National Society of Professional Surveyors. Olivia completed the 60 minute local exam in 19 minutes and 59 seconds, and earned a perfect score!  A special thanks to WHS math teacher, Lisa Stoudt, for coordinating this year's event.
Wilson Students Part of Upcoming Sesame Street Short Film!
Students in Anthony Dusko's class at Shiloh Hills got to experience what the world of film making is all about!  Mr. Dusko has been making short animated films for Sesame Street for the past 8 years.  Recently, he was able to involve his students  in the entire film making process, which included brainstorming ideas, writing scripts and ultimately pitching ideas to Sesame Street producers.  Some of our own students provided the voice talent for the film! And, the recording session was done in the music room at Shiloh Hills!  Congratulations to Mr. Dusko and his students for using their collective talents to show there is real world use for being a creative thinker!
