Ocular Photography Contest Opens June 15

The Comprehensive Eye Care Section would like to announce the 2018 Ocular Photography Contest. The contest will open on June 15th and close at 11:45 pm CST on August 1st. Optometrists may submit up to two entries per category (anterior segment and posterior segment).  
 
The Grand Prize winner from each category will receive complimentary registration to Academy 2018 San Antonio and will have the winning image published in OVS, as well as in the AAO Times paper. All of the winning submissions will be assembled into a photo tower which will be on display at the Academy meeting. Read more...

AAOF Silent Auction at Academy 2018 San Antonio

The silent auction will take place in the exhibit hall with bidding ending at the Celebration Luncheon on Saturday, November 10. Award of Excellence Recipients Announced

The AAOF is pleased to announce the 2018 Johnson & Johnson Vision Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care recipients. This award recognizes outstanding fourth-year student clinicians who have demonstrated excellent overall knowledge of the contact lens field plus skillful, considerate and professional care of contact lens patients during their optometric education. Each winner receives a $500 educational award and a personalized plaque commemorating their accomplishment. Read more...

These innovations span the use of social media, mobile phones, discoveries in regenerative medicine, biosensor integration, and much more. These advances have real potential to enhance the independence of those with vision impairment in ways that were unimaginable only a few years earlier. OVS is eager to spotlight these advances in this special feature issue.
