North Berkeley Neighborhood Cultural Events Group
Some members of the
North Berkeley Neighborhood Group like attending concerts, movies and civic events, and find these occasions even more enjoyable in the company of others, so they formed an interest group called
Cultural Events.

The way the group works, a member finds an event (s)he would like to attend and an email is sent to the whole group with details of the event, perhaps including travel arrangements and dinner/lunch possibilities. Members who would like to accompany the initiator respond and a group is formed. Last year seven groups attended events that included a Bergman film at BPFA, the Wine Walk in the Gourmet Ghetto and Bach's B minor Mass.

Berkeley Historical Society's New Exhibit: Collection Gems
From May 20 through October 13, 2018
Berkeley Historical Society, 1931 Center St., Berkeley
Marking its 40th anniversary, the Society's first permanent exhibit displays a wide variety of materials documenting Berkeley history. Admission is free. The History Center is open and staffed by volunteer docents most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 1 to 4 pm but it's better to call 848-0181 to check.

In Loving Memory

Barbara was a quiet, helpful presence at many Ashby Village Events. We shall miss her warm smile and her willingness to try new things and help with existing tasks.
Her daughter, Nina, sent the following to Ashby Village:
"Thank you all for being such a big part of her life these last few years. I'm only sorry I didn't get to meet you all in person."
Barbara was a lung cancer survivor; the same cancer that took her husband a few years ago. Following his death, Barbara came to Ashby Village for community. From Nina's message it seems that she found her community. --The Hamlet Neighborhood Group.
