“Nobody can do for
little children what grandparents do ... sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.
Alex Haley (author)
“I loved their home. Everything smelled older, worn but safe; the food aroma had baked itself into the furniture.

NATIONAL GRANDPARENTS DAY 2020
The Gift of Grandparents
For those of us lucky to have known them, our grandparents provided both a window into our heritage and the foundation of who we became as people. While many were known to spoil their grandchildren with trinkets or loose change, the intangible gifts they gave us were the most precious. They taught us to cook, to sew, to work, to aspire and to pray. Learn a little more about what our grandparents taught us.
Prayers Amid
the Pandemic
Our own Sister Mary Martha Zammatore has compiled a video of the Sorrowful Mysteries to share with those she counsels in her prison ministry. She invites us to join with our brothers and sisters throughout the world in praying for an end to the pandemic.
Stigmatization of Francis
Why do Franciscans celebrate the stigmata of Francis each September 17? Join our own Sister Nancy Celaschi for The Stigmatization of Saint Francis, a virtual visit to Mount La Verna, the place where Francis was marked with the wounds of Jesus. “On that mountain of passion we will explore the meaning of this event for Francis and you,” Sister Nancy says. “The virtual bus leaves at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 17.” As a guide with the Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs in Italy, Sister has special insight into the life of Francis.

The program is part of St. Francis Center for Renewal's Beyond Bricks & Mortar ministry, which offers opportunities to take part in spiritual programming from wherever you are. All you need is a computer, laptop or tablet with internet access. Register and you will be sent via an email a link to join the program from the comfort of your own home. To register, please click here. Make your suggested $20 registration donation here. Questions? Call 610-867-8890.
Treasured Days with Dad
“I remember walking through the woods of my uncle’s farm picking mushrooms with my dad. We would go on a Sunday afternoon and spend several hours quietly walking and finding the treasured mushrooms nestled in the fallen leaves and moist ground. My mother would string some up to dry so there would be some to make Christmas soup, and the rest would be cooked for supper. How I looked forward to just me and my dad being out in the woods.”  Sister Denise Olshausky

“We are hoping to be like Saul
on the road to De-mask-us.”
