Dear Community, 
 
This coming Shabbat, May 11, 2019, at the conclusion of our service, we will have a very special Torah School Chagigat Halimudim (Celebration of Learning), during which we will bid farewell to Rabbi Julie Gordon with gratitude for her six years of dedicated service as Adat Shalom's Education Director.  The entire community is invited to join us as we celebrate our children, our Torah School teachers and madrichim.ot, and bid Rabbi Julie a fond l'hitraot.

May 11th:  Yom  Ha'Atzmaut (Israel's Independence Day) Celebrations
1. Kitot Bet-Hey students will learn about the Negev  desert, Mahaneh Yehudah shuk (market) in Jerusalem and the Tel Aviv coast. The activities are planned by Idan Sharon, Kitah Hey teacher and  shaliach.

2. Kitah Gan/Alef will celebrate Yom Ha'Atzmaut as Israel's birthday in their classroom. 
Manna food drive
So far we've donated 820 pounds of food toward our 3000 pound goal. Please bring your donations every Shabbat morning. The bins are by the main entrance of sanctuary foyer. Questions or to make a financial donation, contact Rena Milchberg, 240-205-5940.

Kitah Vav Havdalah B'bayit led by Rabbi Fred and dairy potluck dinner at Wendy and Dusty Baber's home, May 18th, 5pm-7pm.
We'll celebrate the last day of Shabbat morning Torah School and the next step in your child/ren's Jewish education. If you have a spice box and/or Havdalah candle, please bring them.  RSVP by May 13th here.
