A message from the Dufferin County Poverty Reduction Task Force

Over the past year, the Government of Canada has travelled across the country, engaging with thousands of Canadians, especially those who have lived experience with poverty, to hear their stories, ideas and feedback about reducing poverty. Leadership Opportunity with United Way

For over 75 years, United Way Guelph Wellington Dufferin has worked to monitor and meet the pressing social needs of our local community. Together we work alongside 50 local agencies (more than 75 programs), to improve lives and build community.

United Way believes strong communities and thriving neighbourhoods exist when individuals and families are connected and supported so they can achieve their full potential. Our funded programs provide basic needs to those struggling financially, keep our community active and engaged, and support children and youth achieve their full potential.

We fund the following agencies located in Dufferin County:
* Headwater Communities in Action
* Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dufferin and District
* Dufferin Parent Support Network
* Dufferin Child and Family Services

United Way is looking for engaged community leaders that want to make an impact right here in our local community by joining our local leadership team, the Dufferin Cabinet.
We will meet once a month to collectively find ways United Way can better engage and involve our community in order to give back and fund more programs.
