Make new business connections and offer advice to young area entrepreneurs at the Dolphin TankĀ® Pitch Event and Reception conducted by Springboard Enterprises and hosted by the Bowie Business Innovation Center (Bowie BIC).

Come hear five innovative product companies from the Bowie area pitch their companies at the Dolphin Tank event to a panel of investors and serial entrepreneurs who give friendly feedback on business models, marketing and business challenges. Weigh in from the audience to offer advice.

Meet Bowie BIC's Bowie State University Student Interns

Akili Smith is a sophmore majoring in business administration with a concentration in marketing.  He is a member of the Honors Program and previously interned with Toyota Financial Services. Upon graduation, Akili plans to earn his MBA while working in advertising.


Kevin Stovall is a graduating senior majoring in communications with a broadcast journalism concentration. Previously, he worked for a Maryland based  electric company specializing in sales and marketing. Upon graduation, Kevin plans to get his MBA in data analytics while pursuing his entrepreneurial dreams.

 
Bowie BIC Board Member Conway Named   SBA 2018 Small Business Person of the Year
Congratulations to Bowie BIC Board member Denita Conway, President and CEO of PROVEN Management, who was named SBA's 2018 Small Business Person of the Year for the District of Columbia.  PROVEN Management is a leading Real Estate-Facility Management and Project Controls consulting firm.  PROVEN is a SBA HUBZONE/8(a) CBE, MBE certified minority woman owned small business.

Receives Governor's Citation for Excellence
Bowie BIC accelerator graduate Sonya Hopson, CEO of Sages Services Group (center), received a Governor's Citation from Maryland Governor Larry Hogan on March 22, 2017 during a celebration of National Women's History Month at the MGM National Harbor. Hopson was honored by the Governor's Office of Small, Minority and Women Business Affairs for "excellence and success in her business, the community and the state." Hopson was joined at the event by Lisa Smith, Director of Bowie BIC (far let) and Lisa Sanford, Director of Compliance, Governor's Office of Small, Minority and Women Business Affairs. (far right).
