TONIGHT --  TOMMY NANCE!

Wednesday Class, APRIL 18

Following our Wednesday Night Supper tonight, please welcome Tommy Nance with a special message on developing a personal lifestyle of evangelism.

Anyone who knows Tommy knows he has never met a stranger. Come and learn as Tommy shares tips on welcoming others to consider Jesus and how to incorporate evangelism into our everyday lives.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!

We are delighted to announce two new families who have decided to make St. Giles their church home. Please introduce yourself and make them welcome. Here are just a few interesting facts to note.

Steve and Ainura Satterfield have a romance and faith connection that reaches around the globe.  She came to Christ while in her native Kyrgistan, from a Muslim background.  Steve was led to the Lord while in the U.S. Navy.  Ainura has done personal care, and Robert is a respiratory therapist at VCU Med.  Welcome!

Robert and Lyn Burton-Wright are back to Richmond after living some years in other cities, having returned to care for her dad.  Both Robert and Lyn are native Richmonders.  Robert is an environmental engineer, and Lyn tutors elementary aged children.  They have a young adult daughter, Elizabeth, here in town too.  Welcome!

50 Years and Where Are We Now?

Many of you have requested that we share the video from the April 4 Panel Discussion on the Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's assassination. It's on our website now. Thanks to Audrey Burton, Peaches Smith, and Wally Smith. It's a good one. Check it out  here .

Frank Aidoo has come to town recently as a co-worker with Bill Sneddon,
and has begun to worship with us. He is seeking to buy an old car -
nothing elaborate, just something that can get him from here to there.
If you have such a car to offer for sale, call the church office and we'll get you
connected.

Discipleship Opportunities

9:30 AM    Beginning this Sunday (April 8), the 9:30 Discipleship Class will be studying a book and video series entitles "True Spirituality - Becoming a Roman's 12 Christian" by Chip Ingram, senior pastor of Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos, CA. Several groups (women, Sunday School, etc.) have enjoyed and been challenged by the previous series by Chip Ingram.

"In Romans 12 God gives us a clear picture of what Christians should look like at the root level. If you're ready to move from "in" to "all in" , then you're ready to become a Romans 12 Christian. The next step of your spiritual journey starts here."

Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church and author of "The Purpose Driven Life" says "True Spirituality" clearly identifies God's timeless path for spiritual growth. It's amazingly relevant and applicable across the full spectrum or one's spiritual pilgrimage."

11 AM    Ross Anderson and Nathaniel Lyle will teach a series on the Gospel of Luke.

Wednesday Evening, April 25

" An Evening of Blessing"

We Can Only Imagine ... what heaven is like, and we can only imagine the hell the people of Puerto Rico have experienced and for some are still experiencing.

Come to "An Evening of Blessing" on Wednesday evening, April 25, for dinner and the program or for just the program which will begin at 6:30 PM.

Through a short dramatic presentation Susan Herring will share Adriana's devastating experience and the hope given to her and her family and other families through the gift of SOLAR PUFFS (portable solar lanterns) and water purification. Christ brought light and hope into the darkness of Puerto Rico through people who cared.

"An Evening of Blessing"  is an evening remembering and honoring our beloved Vera Prior, who had a heart for the ministry of Widow"s Mite Experience.

Enter by the door on the corner of the building closest to Grove Ave. and Tuckahoe.

VCU is home to more than 1600 international students from 108 countries. They would like to make friends with Americans and be invited into an American home. About 75% or internationals nationwide never step into an American home.   Their whole TV perception of America can change with even one visit.

An opportunity to casually meet some of these students is open to all Wednesday, April 18 from 12:30-2 PM at a free Global Cafe. Please call me -- Beth York -- and I will be very happy for your company.  Home 272-6231, call 370-9135.
