2018 Water Quality Report

We are proud to say we supply some of the highest quality, safest and best tasting water in the country--all documented in our 2018 Water Quality Report.

It's easy to see why we enjoy high-quality water, considering about 80 percent comes from first-use, fresh snowmelt high in the Rocky Mountains.

Our treatment plants use an intensive four-step process to treat water before it is sent to customers. About 50,000 water tests for chemical and biological factors are conducted each year. Some of this analysis is required to meet state and federal standards, while others are part of quality testing, such as taste and odor. Learn more at csu.org .

Working toward a cleaner energy future

To meet the renewable energy goals in our Energy Vision, we recently issued a request for proposals for up to and beyond 250,000 megawatt hours of new renewable energy per year. The solicitation will consider a number of technologies, including energy storage solutions in combination with renewable resources.

We are seeking green energy projects that could begin energy delivery by the end of 2020 and as far into the future as 2023, with a term of up to 25 years.

This solicitation is in addition to two utility-scale solar projects, for which we are in contract negotiations, totaling 95 megawatts or the ability to power about 30,000 homes annually.
