SAFETY and SECURITY
for PLACES OF WORSHIP
"Protecting Your Place of Worship in an Uncertain World"

May 31, 2019 - Falmouth on Cape Cod, MA

A Faith Based and Law Enforcement
COMMUNITY EVENT!
______________________________________________ _______

TOPIC:

A comprehensive training on best practices to promote safety and security for places of worship and faith-based organizations. For faith leaders, clergy, lay ministers, staff from churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, and meeting houses; law enforcement personnel; and government leaders.

From acts of violence and vandalism to disruption of services, there are a wide range of security threats to houses of worship across the country. Faith leaders and congregation members simply must be prepared for a variety of threats and crisis situations, such as medical emergencies, domestic violence, child care protection, sexual abuse, disruptive or violent visitors, theft, embezzlement, etc.

Law enforcement sources identify places of worship and faith communities as especially vulnerable targets. But there are ways to strengthen their protection!

During this one-day training, the instructor will review cases of violence in places of worship, talk through ways to prevent incidents and respond to an active shooter event and its aftermath, including effectively working with the media.

In addition, the instructor will guide participants in how to undertake comprehensive safety and security risk assessments. Participants will also learn how to develop policies that effectively address not only acts of targeted violence, but also other areas of vulnerability, including sexual misconduct, financial exploitation and other crisis situations. Are you prepared?
