Welcome to the new academic year! In these challenging times, we are continuing to innovate and grow!

I am excited to announce that our flagship Family Entrepreneurship Amplifier Program, developed by Professor Matt Allen, is growing! We are in the early stages of developing a series of programs and courses to amplify the capacity of families at all ages and stages to create value together through stronger relationships. As part of this, we launched our Family Entrepreneurship Amplifier Summer Experience in July. Over 60 young people and their parents participated in our inaugural programs. We look forward to sharing more opportunities for entrepreneurial families in the months to come. In the meantime, our core undergraduate Amplifier Program, Matt Allen’s Amplifier: Entrepreneurial Families, is now entering its third year with the largest class ever of nearly 40 students and their families.

We were thrilled to engage with over 600 students, alumni, parents, and Babson community members from around the world in our 9 session series “How Entrepreneurial Families can Lead, Now and in the Post Crisis World” last Spring. This Fall, we are continuing our Virtual Forum series beginning this Friday with our engaging and irreverent Babson Disruptor-in-Residence and Board Chair of Berwind Corporation, Joanna Berwind. Joanna will share her challenging personal experience on the topic “Relationships: The Missing Link in Family Entrepreneurship”. This event is very popular and sold out almost immediately! We are managing the size to allow for personal interaction on this meaningful topic, but are exploring options to make sure all community members who want to engage in this important conversation can. So, if you are interested, I encourage you to sign up for the waitlist today.

On the research front, we’ve been working closely with William Gartner, Bertarelli Foundation Distinguished Professor of Family Entrepreneurship, and Matt Allen, Associate Professor and Faculty Advisor of the IFE, on the launch of our Babson Family Entrepreneurship Research Community. This community is comprised of global entrepreneurial families who are interested in participating in our research on an ongoing basis. Participating families have early access to our research results through exclusive webinars and reports before publication of the work. Over 220 people have joined our community so far.
