ADULT SERVICES - ICAN

Every year our ICAN program participants choose an individual in need of assistance around the holiday season. This year, they chose David and befriended him while volunteering at the Rescue Mission and he has been a great help to them. We were able to make his Christmas wishes come true thanks in part from donated gifts from our ICAN families.

 ADULT SERVICES - JOEY'S PLACE

During the month of December program participants made and decorated gingerbread houses. It took a lot of work to get them built, but the best part was putting all the candy on them!

We also had a very special celebration for our friend Randy. He officially graduated from High School. Randy especially enjoyed the cake we had. He also received cards made by all his friends in Joey’s Place. Congratulations Randy!

Sibshops is a program run by SKSF connecting and supporting siblings of children with disabilities (grades K-6th), helping them recognize a community of peers in similar situations.

Siblings of children with disabilities have challenges of their own, relating to others, working through the family dynamics and dealing with the realities of life with a disabled family member. Through fun and age appropriate activities with others in similar situations, they develop bonds, understanding and a support group all their own.

Thank you Brian Cooper, Owner and President of Unified Title, and staff!! They've presented a check for $20,000 to SKSF supporting Zach’s Place program for children with disabilities and special needs. Proceeds came from their annual golf tournament. Special Kids Special Families thanked the group by throwing a special appreciation party in their honor at SKSF’s new administration office facility on Aerotech Drive. “The contribution and support they’ve given our organization over the years is incredible,” states SKSF Executive Director, Linda Ellegard. The donation will help support lower income families with valuable respite and childcare at the Zach’s Place center.
