TRUSTEES: The Board of Trustees gathered on campus this week to discuss important matters. During sessions on Thursday and Friday, Board members met with Headmaster Trip Darrin as well as other faculty and staff. Though these meetings are typically of a serious nature, Trustees also take time to enjoy the beauty of the campus, meals in the dining hall and the company of friends they've made over the years. At this morning's assembly, Chairman Mitch Rue '81 presented the 2018 Trustee Award to Cory Woods.
BARON AWARDS: A student earns a Superior Baron Award if he has received zero infractions during an entire trimester. If he has only one or two infractions in that same time frame, he earns a Baron Award. Last trimester's awards were announced on Wednesday, March 21. For a list of students honored, click here.
MUSIC: Two musicians from the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra at the University of Virginia visited Blue Ridge School on March 20. Nate Lee gave instructions to our brass players Andrew Jorgensen '20 and Andrew Kerchner '18 on trumpet as well as Keegan Kozak '20 on trombone while cellist Adam Carter worked with Peter Sun '21. These private instructions are part of the symphony's Prelude Program that offers free lessons for area students. "No matter how skilled you are at something, there will always be a person who can help and mentor you," says Andrew Kerchner. "What I learned in this session, such as watching my breathing, will help me a whole lot with my trumpet playing."

. Darius McGhee '18 was honored for reached 3,163 high school career points (1,000 of which he made at Blue Ridge).
The varsity lacrosse squad won its first away game at Covenant 21-2 on March 13. The team then hosted its first home game on March 16, losing to St. Christopher's 9-7. The team bounced back the very next day in another home match, beating Calverton 14-8. For photos, click here. All matches/games were cancelled on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week due to weather.
