The Second Graders celebrated their First Holy Communion on Sunday May 5th. The children were so happyWhat a lovely sunny day it turned out to be! Our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful 2nd grade teachers, Mrs. Burns, Ms. Miller and Ms. Tetens for their devotion to the students.
The  St. Francis Xavier School, LaGrange, IL  chapter of the  Girls on the Run-Chicago  program (3 - 5 grade girls) "practice 5k" took place on Friday! The girls started at SFX school, ran up to stone and Monroe park (looped 5 times) past  St. Francis Xavier Parish, La Grange, IL  and came back to school - 3.1 miles! They all have been working so hard and we are so proud of you girls! They used Friday as a way to prepare for the actual 5k race which will take place on May 18th at Joliet Speedway.

Girls on the Run teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The curriculum includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large.
The 5th Grade enjoyed stepping back in time at the Naper Settlement last week. Students were immersed in history as they learn about the past and how it relates to the present, from pioneer times to today. Naper Settlement is a family-friendly outdoor history museum featuring 13 acres of learning and interactive opportunities for all ages.

BLESSED WITH AN ANGEL
The Geraghty Family…

Hello all!! Yes, Spring is finally here and it’s that time of year when our family is gearing up for the annual Angelman Syndrome walk. In January 2003, our daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome, a somewhat rare genetic disorder characterized by severe developmental delays, lack of speech, short attention span, unusually happy demeanor and the potential for seizures. These characteristics definitely describe our Grace! She is now a lovable, happy 17 year old junior in high school and her growth and progress thus far have been nothing short of amazing!

Hoping you’ll consider joining us or supporting us on Saturday, May 18th in Lisle as we walk to raise funds for and awareness of Angelman Syndrome! The annual national walk serves to improve the day-to-day lives of those with Angelman Syndrome and to raise funds for research and improved medical treatments for those with Angelman Syndrome. For more information on Angelman Syndrome please visit www.angelman.org

We would love for you to join us!! To register for the walk and join our team, Gracie’s Gang, or to make an online donation to our team, please visit click the button below.

Even if walking or donating is not feasible for you at this time, please visit our team page (link above) to see the fantastic progress Grace has made since last year! As always, we thank you for your continued support and prayers.

Sincerely, The Geraghty Family –
John, Sue, Marie, Anna, Grace and Eleanor (SFX Gr. 7.)
