NEWS & UPDATES
COLLEGE NEWS
This week marks many significant events - members of our Professional Advisory Council (PAC) will arrive to participate in meetings Thursday and Friday; our Scholarships & Awards Recognition occurs Friday evening; and all of our students are developing articulation of their final project, thesis or other work for the semester. I am pleased to have worked hand-in-hand with our Student Advisory Board this year. They are responsible for the activities of Build-Up Week (leading to "Pencils Down") and I hope you enjoy (and de-stress) throughout the week. Kudos to all who presented at last week's Undergraduate Research Fair -- and thank you for representing this college so well!
Best,
Kathy

**Students can now print to the 1300 plotter on coated from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am through papercut.**

As a friendly reminder, any student with a Papercut account can print to the Oce large format, Arch 23 Color, Arch 23 B&W and Ricoh 21 printers which are available 24/7 in room 21.
COURSE EVALUATIONS
Course evaluations are available beginning April 16th. Students should receive an email from "UNL Eval Admin" with the email address: crseval@unl.edu . Evaluations can also be accessed by using this link: https://crseval.unl.edu/

Cross-listed courses are handled the same way as they are in Canvas, with courses organized in numerical order. For instance, in a 400/800-level course, all evaluations will go in the 400-level section.

Do not be alarmed if your course evaluation has the lower level course listed. It is the correct evaluation and you are enrolled in the course shown in MyRed.
ARCHITECTURE
The calendar is full with the many activities and events planned for these last few weeks of the spring semester. One to which a significant amount of time and effort is devoted from students and faculty alike is Dead Week, which could also be called Final Review Week for the Architecture Program. Students in studios at all levels within the program will be focusing on presentations - completing drawings and models this week in order to put their best work forward for the critiques scheduled for April 25-27. Outside critics are invited to the college to interact and engage with the students and faculty as a part of this process. More-
COMMUNITY AND REGIONAL PLANNING
Students in Dr. Daniel Piatkowski’s Selected Topics elective course, CRPL 495/895, The Sustainable Campus, a new course this semester, are wrapping up their semester-long study of the overall campus sustainability framework with the development of components of what could become a sustainability plan for UNL. The 18 undergraduate and graduate students from four different majors have studied specific opportunities and challenges for sustainability initiatives on university campuses, with particular attention to the University of Nebraska‒Lincoln. The course has emphasized how sustainability can be integrated into the broad scope of campus planning. More-
INTERIOR DESIGN
We are a week and a half away from final reviews. In that time, please take advantage of some of the great student activities/breaks that have planned by the SAB. They are not only fun, but good built-in breaks to relieve some stress and even perhaps come back with a renewed focus and clarity needed to complete your work. There is always that rigor and drive to do another drawing, or add make one last model…but be sure to do so with a sense and awareness of wellness. More-
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
The relationship between the academy and the profession is an important one. Historically the profession provided important practical experience and support, and the academy pursued research providing important insight and critical perspective. In recent years, each community has evolved in ways that have blurred those roles. The professional community has begun to do more research and the academy has pursued design-build initiatives to provide opportunities for practical experience and applied research. Still, the traditional strengths remain and these can present important opportunities for partnerships. Over the past couple months, I have had the chance to visit many of the Landscape Architecture groups in the state. More-
